What’s your take on Privileged Access Management (PAM) and Identity Management (IAM/IGA)?
Recently ran into these topics that seem to get a lot of serious-business and Gartner hype and was wondering what y’all really think about PAM practices and solutions (CyberArk, BeyondTrust..) and Identity Management (automation, certifications.. SailPoint, Ping, okta…). Is it just a lot of expensive snake oil? Does it have merits? When actually pentesting/redteaming, has PAM or IGA ever caused you headaches or made your life harder?

Getting into ctfs tryhackme learning path
Thank you for reading this.
I just want to give you some background information about me, so you can properly answer my questions. I'm 18, I know Python, js, css, html, I have some basic network knowledge, but like really basic, like some basic network knowledge of a lot, but no deep knowledge e.g I know what the osi model is and the layers, but I don't know strictly how everything works, I know tcp, udp, three way handshake etc., but I don't know it profoundly, I've also really messed around with a lot of things since I was a kid so I guess I have some basic knowledge in security systems and also really basic hacking tool knowledge. Don't expect too much of my hacking and network knowledge, it's really just general and not focussed enough.
I've today registered on tryhackme, for one simple reason; I want to have the proper knowledge to get into ctfs like any ctf, not just the beginner ones.
Is there any path(s) suggestions on tryhackme to get the proper basics, some straighforward path that's beginner friendly?
Also do the learning paths of tryhackme include ctfs or is that a seperate section?
Would you suggest me to already start doing ctfs in addition to taking a learning path on tryhackme, if so where (and maybe which ones)?
I really appreciate any answer!
Have a good day :)

How do law firms know you are pirating?
So, it happened. I got a cease and decist for downloading Dune via BitTorrent over the PirateBay. I live in Germany. But this actually made me curious how exactly - on a network level - do law firms find out you are breaking copyright law? In Germany we have net neutrality. So the ISP can't really look into your traffic. With a torrent I can imagine that every seeder/leecher can see the IP addresses from where it gets its Pakets, right? Does that mean the law firm is torrenting as well? But what about illegal streaming sites that are not a torrent, how do they find out? There was a case where log files got confiscated. But beyond that Google didn't really gave me an answer. Everybody seems to be rather concerned whether they are safe or not, rather than the technical details on how they find out in the first place.
Thank you in advance.

What user agent does Google's webcache use?
It is possible to bypass paywalls for certain news sites by viewing the cached version of the site from Google. This means Google has access to the whole article. This also means that the news site is letting the Google's webcache system access the whole article. I'm assuming this would be through a custom user agent.
So if Im able to know what this user agent is, I'd be able to easily bypass the paywalls on these sites
