Using HFS + STunnel to access private files through HTTPS

HFS - HTTP File Server

I occasionally use this program to transfer files that are too large for email, but then I always disable/close it afterwards. The thought of leaving it on 24/7 has crossed my mind, but I'm not sure how secure this would be (I already have it setup to require a username and password).

Does anyone happen to know how secure this program is, or what the server software is based on? Since it's an older program, I'm worried it may have some well known vulnerabilities. (Also, I'm not sure if HTTPS in general is somehow less secure than setting up a VPN?)

I know there are plenty of other solutions out there, but I really like the idea of accessing my files through HTTPS (so I don't have to install anything to anyone's computer). I want to be sure there isn't an easy/obvious vulnerability, in case some stranger does happen to stumble upon it (no domain name, it's just an ip address with custom port number).

Which OS to install Sublime Text on?

Hey everyone, sorry in advance if this is an extremely stupid question.

I’ve recently started setting up my environment to learn more about penetration testing and cyber security as a hobby. I’m running a pretty powerful MacBook Pro with kali and windows through Virtual box.

I want to install sublime text as my primary text editor but am not sure where to install it. My gut says to install it on MacOS because I’d still be able to access it when running the kali VM.

Will I run into problems this way? What would you recommend? Is this just a really dumb question?

What’s the point of doing a bug bounty if the bounty is ineligible for pay?

I was doing some work on a bounty that is hosted on HackerOne.

I managed to find a broken access control vulnerability while I was looking for IDORS.

I spent like 8 hours doing the leg work on this bounty.

I went back to HackerOne’s page on the bounty just to make sure the vulnerability was is scope before submitting my report.

However when I looked it showed that this particular website was ineligible for bounty payouts…

What’s the point of even working on a bounty if they aren’t paying?

I feel like I wasted 8 hours on this for nothing.

Opinions?
