static binary isn’t linked to a library, but the library is already on the PC. What can I do?

I’m doing a CTF where I need to use a provided static binary of a tool called socat to port forward. I can do it normally, but I wanted to practice using it with the OpenSSL option. The static binary apparently isn’t linked to the OpenSSL library, but the target PC already has OpenSSL installed.

TL;DR

Is there any way to make this work? Or would this only be possible by compiling socat with the link to the OpenSSL library?

Spec issue

I’m trying to use win kex to access kali Linux and it is INSANELY slow. I have 8GB Ram and an i7 processor and plenty of space. I am new and learning so I was wondering if this was not enough. I have been able to pull up kali but it just keeps freezing and not doing anything

WAN IP Assignment

Hey guys I was wondering if any of you have worked with routers or .config files I am trying to see if a static wan ip assignment is possible for isp facing routers or gateways. I know this is possible on local network devices, not all but some, such as Asus or maybe Linksys. Reason I say this is due to wan links generally using dhcp on docsis modems and from a end user perspective there's not much that anyone can do aside from attempting to renew the lease. That being said has anyone with a root shell been successful in doing something like a manual assignment from the existing dhcp pool and having it connected to the internet successfully ?
