Is it possible for hackers to access major social media companies and ban users?

I have been seeing a lot of military accounts get taken down especially the ones of Groups fighting in Ukraine against Russian troops. But it's hard to stay in contact with them because they keep on getting banned. And the reasons why social media companies are banning these accounts are questionable. So is it possible for hackers to access major social media companies and ban users?

A new Onyx ransomware operation is destroying files larger than 2MB instead of encrypting them, preventing those files from being decrypted even if a ransom is paid. Like most of today's ransomware operations, Onyx threat actors steal data from a network before encrypting devices.
