VMware Fusion private network

Hello friends,

I am running VMware Fusion pro on my Mac in order to use Kali Linux. I want Kali not share the data and same IP to outside the Virtual machine. So I selected, in network settings, private to my Mac but with this selection I don't have access to internet inside the virtual machine. I also created a custom private network following the instructions in VMware website and I got the same error.

Can you help me, please?

Where can I learn ethical hacking?

Data science, statistics, and computer science gal here. I’m proficient mostly in programming (R, C#, python, java) and statistical/mathematical modeling. I don’t have a lot of cybersecurity or network experience.

I’m graduating this semester. Looking to go into governmental/military work and it looks like hacking skills are becoming more valuable by the minute. Got any tips?

For everyone asking how to assist with the Ukraine War

Information Warfare and the Ukraine war

I’ve seen a number of posts about combatting Russia during this time, which is awesome. I’ll lay out some easy tactics and I encourage you to comment with more ideas.

1. Type up something to the effect of “Putin is killing civilians in Ukraine. Your sons are dying by the thousands. Your rubles are worthless.” And so on. Simple, effective. Translate it to Russian if you want to ensure that Russian speakers will know what it says.
2. Twitter- relentlessly comment the statement on RT, Russia24, Russian embassy and government pages. And Russia military affiliated pages. Any page that sympathizes with Russia will do.
3. Do the same with YouTube- target any and all Russian owned media outlets still publishing russias narrative on YouTube.
4. Google reviews. Apparently they’ve stopped allowing reviews on restaurants, bars, hotels, etc. but if you can VPN and get it to work, do so.
5. You could compile evidence of war crimes and store it and send it to your representatives and/or the ICC for the eventual war crime investigation.
6. Use Tinder to catfish Russian troops for operational details and then forward to Ukrainian intelligence accounts on IG/Twitter.

I’m not going to mention DDOS, phishing attacks, or other types of offensive tactics, because you can find yourself in some legal shit if you aren’t very, very careful.

The real way that this ends is the Russian people will have to depose Putin. Winning the information war is just one small step.

Comment your ideas if you have them! Think outside the box!

Just starting out... building a lab recs?
https://www.reddit.com/r/Pentesting/comments/t70r3b/just_starting_out_building_a_lab_recs/

So I am just starting out on becoming a pen tester.. As in, I have zero experience but that's the direction I want to go. I'm currently a cyber engineer that manages all the firewalls and proxy's and VPN's for now though. I just completed and passed the GIAC GPEN course/exam, and am moving on to the OSCP. While waiting for my company to approve that course and give me the funds, I'm taking "The Cyber Mentors" full pen testing academy. Anyways, I'm wanting to setup my own pen test lab and so far, I have two phsyical windows machines running windows 10, each physical machine has two Kali 2022 Linux distributions on them as a VM, and 2 Windows 10 VM's. I also have a private VPN setup so all 10 systems are able to talk to each other. submitted by /u/ThePenTester88 (https://www.reddit.com/user/ThePenTester88)
