Is a move to a pen testing consultancy worth it?
https://www.reddit.com/r/Pentesting/comments/sjj1o7/is_a_move_to_a_pen_testing_consultancy_worth_it/

<!-- SC_OFF -->Hi all, I’ve been working as a security engineer for a big company. I have always wanted to be a pen tester ever since university and after two years in my current roll it’s finally been offered to me. This pen testing consultancy is a 20 man company with what seems like very nice people and they’ve offered me a contract but wondering if it’s the right choice? Positives: Better job (pay is slightly more) New experiences in city CREST (already was about to do OSCP so saved me on that) Smaller company (more contact with experienced people) Pen testing (Job I’ve always wanted) Negatives: Moving More expensive (rents £150 more a month) More hours (3 more a week) Smaller company (not as secure position) 4 days less Holidays Friends and family at home (2h drive away) Any other ideas or opinions would be very helpful <!-- SC_ON --> submitted by /u/NoRepresentative7731 (https://www.reddit.com/user/NoRepresentative7731)
