hacking: security in practice
What's the point of tagging hackers under terms such as hacktivist or grey/white hat hacker like we are cattle?
"Hey look at me I'm a green hat hacktivist malicious insider exploiter 1337"
This is not Game of Thrones and you don't need titles, what the hell is the point?
As far as I'm concerned, a person is either a hacker or not, and depending on what he does, he's either an asshole or not. It's as simple as this, since when did we need to be grouped like kindergartners?

Someone told me about a phishing scam they were trying to attempt by getting into someone’s gmail.
Seems like a dumb script kiddie “hack” and I don’t have all that much detail. They were trying to, I guess sound cool since I’m in sec ops. I explained how stupid it was, but I don’t really know if I should report it or not? I have no interest in his communications with me being used against me despite the fact I tried to look away from it and remove myself from the chat. Anyone else been in a weird situation like this?

So I’ve been doing some research with back doors C&C and I’ve been wondering what are the best languages to code a C&C and or a back door and what language was the back doors in meta sploit written in. If there any ebooks or courses going more in-depth that would be great. Thank you submitted by /u/gallacticscambaiter (https://www.reddit.com/user/gallacticscambaiter)

Japanese multinational conglomerate Panasonic disclosed a security breach after unknown threat actors gained access to servers on its network this month.
“Panasonic Corporation has confirmed that its network was illegally accessed by a third party on November 11, 2021,” the company said in a press release issued Friday.
“As the result of an internal investigation, it was determined that some data on a file server had been accessed during the intrusion.”
Panasonic has reported the incident to the relevant authorities and has taken measures to prevent access to its network from external servers.
The Japanese electronics giant has also hired the services of a third party to investigate the attack—which Panasonic tagged as a “leak” in the press release—and find if any of the data accessed during the intrusion includes customer personal information.
See Also: Complete Offensive Security and Ethical Hacking Course “In addition to conducting its own investigation, Panasonic is currently working with a specialist third-party organization to investigate the leak and determine if the breach involved customers’ personal information and/or sensitive information related to social infrastructure,” the company added.
A Panasonic spokesperson was not immediately available for comment when contacted by BleepingComputer.
Panasonic would like to express its sincerest apologies for any concern or inconvenience resulting from this incident. — Panasonic Panasonic servers reportedly hacked in JuneWhile the press release issued doesn’t include many details regarding the attack timeline, Japanese outlets, including Mainichi and NHK, said the attackers had access to Panasonic’s servers between June and November, as first reported by The Record.

The attack on Panasonic’s server is part of a long series of other incidents involving Japanese companies in recent years. Kawasaki, NEC, Mitsubishi Electric, and defense contractors Kobe Steel and Pasco have also disclosed security incidents and, in some cases, even data leaks.
