Things to do with an old iPad?

Hello all I'm pretty new to knowing how little I know. But I do have an old iPad and would like to play with it. I'm thinking a pet monitor but would rather using it as some kind of tech tool. Anyone got any ideas?

How does injecting malware in the GPU's VRAM work?

I've started learning about cybersecurity a few weeks ago, and I've just read an article talking about a new hacking method that consists of injecting malware in the GPU's VRAM (so anti-viruses don't detect it). How is that possible though? I thought that the VRAM was erased when turning off the computer. The article also mentioned that there is a proof of concept explaining how this method works, but I haven't found anything. If someone knows anything about this, please let me know, thanks in advance :)
