Homebuilt Antivirus

So I want to make something for a demonstration, and this seemed like a good place to ask. Do you think that I could make an antivirus, or one that just follows one PARTICULAR threat (some sort of virus or whatever) through a system, for a demonstration? Either this or an intrusion detection system. I'm a novice as I only know some Java, Python and C++, but I have the will to learn and 2 years of time. If so, do you have any idea where I could learn how to go about this? Thanks in advance!

Waverider coin/phone payment commercial washer hack

this is a link to the manual for the device

Basically, I was able to pull the panel and touch a couple wires together before this was installed in my building, and that tricked it into thinking I was inserting coins. Now they installed this new system and touching the wires doesn't do it. However, coins still work, so I am guessing there are different wires that I could touch together without a digital hack of some kind. Any thoughts?

WHOIS Protection

Hi, I found in twitter some fakenews spreader accounts and they referers to the same website, only for couriousity, I wanted to look for some information about the domain, but the information showed at WHOIS was anonymized. Is this a typical practice? There exist any other way to get information about the domains? Thanks
