Is anyone following the Titanfall/Apex Legends DDoS attacks?

I was wondering if anyone on here was familiar with the DDoS attacks going on in the Titanfall1/2, and most recently Apex Legends servers. Why would someone want to do this, what is there to gain? Would it take more than one person to accomplish? What can be done to stop these? Can anyone find a common denominator to who the attacks are targeting and why? I know they’re supposed to suppress streamers from playing, but it’s turned into much more than that now. I’m not a hacker and I have barely any knowledge how it works, but I was wondering if the seasoned vets of this sub could help me wrap my head around this situation.

Hacking... a brain?

I'm trying to find someone online that I met a long time ago. I know her first name and I know someone who knows her last name too. Problem is I'm not in speaking terms with this person and I can't just up and ask him about it. Is this a hacking problem? How do I get round to finding the information I need? And how do I do that without said person becoming suspicious that I'm behind it?
