Accounts Compromised Regardless of 2FA + Password Changes
Recently, I noticed that someone on my LinkedIn account had been sending messages to random people, asking to speak with them.
Almost immediately, I signed out all sessions, changed the password to one that’s never been used, and turned on 2 Factor Authentification.
I have also purged my email and made sure nobody other than me has access to it.
Today, I noticed the same thing happening — a random person messaging people on my behalf on LinkedIn. To make it worse, I checked the active sessions, and the one that was identified as mine was in a completely different state.
The password is still changed and 2FA has still been on, but this person has breached my account regardless.
Does anyone have any clue on how they are doing this and what I could do to stop it?
