Javlon has a legendary sense of humor — with him around, even our painfully dull writing classes felt like stand-up comedy shows😂 🤔 Who knew grammar lessons could include so much laughter (and occasional confusion)? His iconic catchphrases, “What the heck?” and “I got cooked,”🤓 are now permanently etched into my brain — probably more than any essay structure we learned.
Stay tuned for the upgraded version: Javlon 2.0 – Smarter, Funnier, and Slightly Less Cooked❤️🔥 🤩

These days more fathers stay at home and take care of their children while mothers go out to work. What could be the reasons for this? Do you think it is a positive or a negative development?
In this contemporary era, an increasing number of fathers are assuming the responsibility of child-rearing by staying at home, while mothers pursue professional careers. The reasons why this is happening vary from changing gender roles to economic considerations, but I personally see this trend in a negative light for a number of reasons, including significant pressure placed on women and the persistence of social stigma.
To begin with, the primary motive behind the increasing number of stay-at-home fathers is the transformation of traditional gender roles. Over time, deep-rooted societal stereotypes that designated mothers as the sole responsible caregivers have been questioned and largely demolished. Modern household compositions now reflect more non-traditional dynamics, where raising a child is no longer deemed exclusively the mother’s responsibility. As a result, there is a growing consensus that parenting duties should be shared, resulting in more and more fathers actively engaging in child upbringing. Another equally essential driving factor is monetary consideration. In some cases, women obtain well-paid and more stable jobs, whereas their partners may have a hard time securing consistent or well-compensated work. Under such circumstances, rather than jeopardizing the family’s financial stability, women often remain in the workforce even after experiencing delivery. Consequently, the traditional caregiving role is reversed, with fathers taking primary responsibility for childcare and other family commitments, while mothers satisfy the family’s financial needs.
From my perspective, this change is for the worse for several reasons, one of which is the increased burden placed on women. Women are generally less physically strong and enduring compared to men, so when they are responsible for both meeting family needs and maintaining breadwinner roles, they may struggle significantly. For example, dealing with prolonged stress, demanding work-related deadlines, and constant financial concerns can place them under considerable pressure. These preoccupations take a toll on their mental health, potentially leading to chronic anxiety or emotional burnout. In addition to severe mental issues, father may face some challenges as well – social criticism. In some cultures, where there are deep-rooted traditional norms persist, men may be met with skepticism, criticism, or even ridicule. These men are sometimes labeled as "less masculine" or viewed as failing to fulfill their traditional duties. Such negative societal reactions can create a sense of isolation and decreased self-esteem, ultimately adversely affecting the harmony of the family.
To conclude, it has become increasingly common to see more men taking on the role of nurturing children at home, while their partners continue working. This phenomenon can be attributed to shifting gender roles and financial factors. In my opinion, this is an unfavorable development, as it places a considerable burden on women and provokes social criticism due to the reversal of traditional roles.

In the future, we may need to live on other planets. For this reason, some people believe that we should be spending money now to explore other planets such as Mars. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Given the possibility that humans may need to inhabit other planets in the future, some people advocate for increased investment in planetary exploration, particularly missions to Mars. Although interplanetary exploration presents certain potential benefits, I believe that this approach is highly problematic for several compelling reasons, ranging from immense financial burdens to significant ethical concerns.
Admittedly, one persuasive justification in favor of space exploration can be the long-term survival of humanity. What is deemed habitable now—Earth—is highly vulnerable to a wide range of existing threats, both natural and man-made. Were these disasters, including catastrophic climate change, pandemics, or nuclear mayhem, to occur, they would have the potential to severely disrupt or even wipe out susceptible human civilization. In such cases, planetary redundancy – multiple probable habitats for humanity on different planets – might act as a backup system, reducing the likelihood of human extinction. Consequently, investing heavily in space-based experiments might help individuals ensure the continuity of human survival in the face of global life-threatening disasters.
I, nonetheless, contend that planetary exploration might backfire due to its prohibitive financial costs. Launching a spacecraft necessitates rigorous testing, advanced technology, and safety precautions, all of which call for hundreds of billions of dollars. In case unforeseeable issues arise in the space, all efforts may be in vain, requiring the team to start everything from scratch. Enhancing the effectiveness of these interplanetary missions even elevates the development costs, as minor errors lead to complete loss of mission. Even though these incredibly delicate missions may be completed successfully, their usefulness to human life remains highly questionable. Considering the substantial costs and uncertain benefits of space exploration, I argue that supporting it may not be a sensible decision.
In addition to financial burdens, I believe that some moral considerations should be taken into account before advocating for space exploration. While people live in miserable standards of living, investing large sums in space experiments might be unethical. For example, millions of people still face severe poverty, famine, and inadequate access to basic needs such as clean water, healthcare, and education. According to the United Nations, hundreds of millions remain undernourished, and even more survive on less than $2 a day. In such cases, allocating billions of dollars towards space exploration raises moral questions.
In conclusion, I believe that investing in space exploration, while it might enhance the prospects of long-term human survival, is not a justified course of action due to its considerable financial costs and the moral dilemmas it presents.

The maps below show changes in the city of Nelson in recent times. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The pictures illustrate the layout of a particular city called Nelson in 2000 and its appearance at present.
Overall, following the changes, the city has gained various brand-new features, increasing the range of recreational amenities available for city dwellers. The area has evolved to become more environmentally sustainable and people-friendly, offering a rental scheme and pedestrianized pathways.
In 2000, the city was rather featureless, offering a limited range of facilities. A road ran from east to west, with a port located to its south. The area boasted a city center—albeit largely barren—and an old market situated in the vicinity of it. On the far side of the city stood the university, flanked by several trees nearby. All of these areas were accessible via a train station positioned at the northwestern edge of the city.
As of today, the layout of the city has had a complete makeover, offering various conveniences for residents. The main road has been pedestrianized to enhance safety within the community. Adjacent to the pathway, the city center has introduced a rental bike scheme. This area is now flanked by two new shops—one on each side—one of which is a covered structure. The train station has been moved eastwards and upgraded with a tramline. While the university has remained untouched, new facilities have been added nearby: a hall of residence to the west and a shopping mall to the east. Last but not least, new amenities like restaurants, bars, and clubs have been constructed below the pedestrianized road to enhance recreational options in the area.

Some people think that advertising encourages us to buy things we don't really need. Others say that advertising tells us about new products that can improve our lives. What point of view do you agree with?
There is an ongoing debate regarding the purpose of advertisement in our lives. While some hold the view that advertising manipulates consumers into purchasing products that are nonessential, others are of the opinion that it is of paramount importance in enhancing the quality of life. I totally support the second assertion for a number of compelling reasons, ranging from its role in fostering brand visibility to triggering innovation to stimulating economic growth.
To start, advertising has a part to play in the modern world in a number of significant ways, one of which is enhancement of brand awareness. With the rapid pace of modern and technological advancements, upgraded versions of existing products and services frequently emerge. If it were not for advertising, people from different parts of the world would not know about the existence of such goods. Being deprived of such essential knowledge, people are more likely to rely on less effective and probably time-consuming methods. By contrast, advertisement keeps people informed regarding the new types of commodities, enabling them to make rational choices by comparing different prices and quality. This increased awareness is highly likely to lead to increased quality of life.
In addition to raising awareness about certain products, advertising plays an important role in driving economic enhancement. As companies increase their sales through effective advertisement, it necessitates the creation of new job opportunities, since a larger workforce is required to meet growing demand. This enhanced economic activity leads to increased income tax, which boosts the local economy in the long run. For example, a thriving restaurant chain pays more in corporate tax, its employees pay income tax, and even sales tax from customers can all favorably affect the economy. Therefore, advertising can be an important driver of economic development.
Another persuasive argument in support of advertisement enhancing the quality of life can be its potential to stimulate innovation. As more and more companies advertise their services and products, it becomes increasingly challenging to stand out. Such fierce competition urges companies to think outside the box in the hope of attracting customers' attention. In response, innovative ideas and improved products are developed to gain a competitive advantage. Thus, advertising can act as a catalyst—triggering innovation and accelerating change, thereby enhancing overall quality of life.
To conclude, while some people argue that advertising encourages people to buy unnecessary items, I am of the opposite view, as it improves our lives by enhancing product recognition, economic progress, and innovation.

Some people believe that anyone can create art such as painting poetry music and so on. Others think that a person should have special abilities to create art.

Discuss both views and give your opinion.

There is a heated debate regarding the creation of art, as some are of the opinion that everyone has the potential to create works such as poetry and music, whereas others hold the opposite view, suggesting it calls for special competence. Convincing arguments can be made for both perspectives, but I am of the view that people should possess artistic skills in order to maintain the credibility of art.
On the one hand, some people believe that art is not reserved for certain groups of people, as creativity can be found in all walks of life. The innate ability to imitate, innovate, and create makes art readily accessible to everyone, regardless of their educational background and training. For example, from an early age, individuals demonstrate creative tendencies through drawing, singing, writing, and the like. In this sense, creativity is a shared human trait; practically everyone with passion can create a meaningful piece of art.
However, others argue that art requires technical mastery, meaning that creating high-quality art usually involves more than just inspiration or novelty—it demands certain skills and knowledge. Highly respected art forms involve a high degree of complexity, and would-be artists ought to master a wide range of skills, tools, and concepts to produce outstanding and superior art. For example, in classical music, a musician must have a thorough understanding of pitch, rhythm, and musical notation, all of which take a considerable amount of time and dedication, as they cannot be acquired through intuition.
From my point of view, only proficient artists should produce art to maintain its value and integrity. If it were not for depth, meaning, and emotional engagement, art would risk being superficial and lack symbolism. This is because art is not just about putting colors on a canvas or sounds together; most masterpieces involve multiple layers of meaning, subtle emotions, and intricate techniques that invite the viewer or listener to engage with the work on a deeper intellectual and emotional level. For example, a painter might use shades, shapes, or patterns symbolically to represent concepts like freedom, desperation, or elation. Therefore, only skilled artists are likely to create truly thought-provoking pieces.
To conclude, some people argue that since everyone possesses a certain degree of creativity, they can create art, while others beg to differ, believing art requires technical mastery. I support the latter assertion, as art would lose its value if everyone were able to produce it.
