HEART SCORE for major cardiac events @guidelines
It involves only a 1-time troponin, at admission. The rest of the score is based on age, history, risk factors, and EKG.Low risk patients have a score 0-3 and have a less than 2% risk of MACE at 6 weeks.MACE is defined as: all-cause mortality, myocardial infarction, or coronary revascularization. All other scores are high risk (risk increasing exponentially) and require further management and admission. While HEART is sometimes compared to TIMI and GRACE (older ACS scores), these measure risk of death for patients with ACS, and do not do as well telling who has ACS in the first place.

To estimate the risk of stroke after a TIA @guidelines
The Dutch TIA trial found that while the risk for major vascular events and stroke was highest immediately after the TIA/minor stroke and declined to the lowest at about three years, it then gradually increases over the remainder of the 10-year follow-up. This is in contrast to the risk for mortality, which gradually rose throughout the study.

4 Ts score should be used only to guide the diagnosis of HIT, but not as a substitute for clinical judgement.Confirmatory Diagnosis of HIT is arrived at only by Antibody TestingLifelong avoidance of Heparin is advised in HIT, including in forms such as Heparin-bonded catheters and Heparin flushes used for arterial line placementThe Lillo-Le Louet model is used exclusively in the postcardiopulmonary bypass setting. In it, the points are given depending upon:timing of thrombocytopeniaduration of thrombocytopeniathe duration of cardiopulmonary bypass
This model has not been prospectively evaluated on a multicentre basis.

Sodium Deficit Calculation in Hyponatremia @guidelines
Hypokalaemia may predispose patients to develop osmotic demyelination following correction of hyponatremia. The aetiology of this complication is unclear. In neurologically stable patients with severe hyponatremia, it may be beneficial to correct hypokalaemia prior to correction of the serum sodium. This may further reduce the incidence of ODS.
