Police Called Off Press Conference When Confronted with Questions on Police Violence on Journalists
The Hong Kong police suspended their press conference at around 16:44, after a journalist requested the police to stop violence on members of the press.
The journalist recounted cases of police violence and violation of press freedom. She demonstrated how the police flashed light on journalists obstructing them from reporting. She called on other journalists to boycott the press conference.
*After resuming the press conference, Police Public Relation Branch (PPRB) spokeperson ordered a journalist to "shut up" at around 17:07.

Apple Daily boycotts police press conferences
Apple Daily announced today (Oct 28) that they will not attend protest-related press conferences held by the Hong Kong Police, until the police start displaying their identification number and the government withdraws the injunction on the disclosure of police personal details (names included).
Apple Daily states that they will continue to acquire information from the police but they refuse to be the mouthpiece of the authorities.
This decision comes after the police immediate suspension of the press conference, after a reporter demanded the police to stop imposing violence on journalists. (Watch video: https://t.me/guardiansofhongkong/9271)

US Senate Proposed Bipartisan Resolution Seeking to Declare "Genocide" of Uyghurs in China
Many US senators proposed a resolution on Tuesday (October 27), seeking to officially declare China's measures against Uyghurs and other Turkic-speaking Muslims in Xinjiang a genocide.
A group of bipartisan senators jointly proposed the draft resolution, but the Congress will not consider it until after the general election next week at the earliest. The resolution states that "China's measures against the Uyghurs, Kazakhs, Kyrgyz and other Muslim minorities in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region constitute genocide".
Republican Senator John Cornyn, the sponsor, said the resolution is a first step toward holding China accountable for its horrific actions. The Co-sponsor, Democratic Senator Jeff Merkley, said the United States could no longer remain silent. He added, "China's aggression against the Uyghurs and other Muslim minorities, including its escalating surveillance, imprisonment, torture, and forced 're-education camps', is nothing short of genocide”.

Five of the have been arrested on the charge a of illegally doing the biding of the Chinese government in the U.S.
Defendants conducted surveillance of and engaged in a campaign to harass, stark and coerce certain residents of the U.S. to return the PRC as part of global, concerted, and extralegal repatriation effort known as “Operation Fox Hunt”.
PRC’s Operation Fox Huat targets Chinese individuals living in foreign countries that PRC government alleges those committed crimes under PRC crimes and seeks to repatriate them to PRC face to charges.
