Riot Police Chase Away Homeless, Throw Away Possessions, Threaten Arrest: “If You Don’t Leave, I’ll Throw You onto the Truck Too!”

On Christmas Eve, the government made the unprecedented move of sending riot police to clear away the homeless from parks. Community groups revealed that police threw away homeless people’s possessions, and threatened them with arrest.

Despite having begged for mercy, one homeless disabled person was threatened by police, who told him, “If you don’t leave, I’ll throw you onto the truck too.”

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department admitted that they had participated in a joint action with the Police. They, however, claimed that they were not targeting the homeless, but were only aiming to improve cleanliness in parks.

When the young man ran to the junction of Nathan Road and Prince Edward Road West, he was hit by a motorcycle. The motorcyclist also fell to the ground and was injured. The young man got up and escaped. Riot police arrived, encircled the scene and checked the driver for injuries. They later removed the flower altar outside Prince Edward Station.

Hong Kong Police Force criticized for not looking professional

Hong Kong police were found wearing “Operations Number” badges on their uniform with some displayed horizontally while others vertically. They appeared not to care about looking professional as one would expect from members of disciplinary forces. Some police officers even wore personal accessories on their uniforms.

The Police seems to neglect the professionalism represented by their uniform. Wait... they are not in proper uniform when on duty anyway... no identification, masked and sometimes disguised as protesters... what more can you expect.

Friendly Fire: Police Pepper-Sprayed a Masked Undercover Officer Until the Warrant card was Shown

A plainclothes officer wearing facemask was on the receiving end of multiple pepper sprays; he was visibly in pain. His colleagues kept on spraying him even he yelled "I'm one of you".

The riot police stopped spraying him only when he finally showed his warrant card. He was later helped away from the scene by two other officers, who were similarly dressed, with full-face coverings.

Editor's note: Some netizens commented that this is the result of the police displaying warrant cards. They end up shooting themselves in their foot, and they get to experience their very own "minimal and proportionate use of force".

1706 | #Central
Two citizens accidentally dropped a few Fai Chun as they were walking down to J Exit of Central Station. A Riot Police warned them, "Pick up your garbage, cockroaches! Talking about dignity huh? You don't have any dignity!"

A district council member then jumped in and said, "I have already told them to pick the Fai Chun up." Police then said "It was me who told them to pick them up!" The council member then said, "Well, that's what they're doing right now!"

The police then said sarcastically "DC member huh?"
