Suspicious Men Threatening Reporters in Shatin
At around 20:26, three people of unclear identity threatened reporters with hiking sticks and wooden batons, telling the reporters not to follow them. When reporters inquired whether they were police officers and asked to see their warrant cards, they replied, “Same as you,” stating that it’s their freedom to carry any sort of belongings. They then hopped onto a taxi and left shortly afterwards.

Police Arrest Citizen for Using Laser Pointer

Over 40 riot police and a Special Tactical Squad gathered at the intersection point of Nathan Road and Argyle Street behind Grand Plaza.

A man was arrested for using lasing pens to point at police officers, which arouses anger from other passersby. They chanted protest slogans and told the police to “come back to the pavement” when the police crossed to the other side of the street through traffic roads.

Riot police fired 6 teargas bombs in a row without issueing any warning at the intersection point of Nathan Road and Shang Tung Street. Some police cars left after the shooting.
Confrontation Escalates in Mong Kok Towards Midnight; Police Fire Tear Gas Without warning

At 23:23, police pointed pepper spray towards a crowd of citizens on Shan Tung Street.

At 23:30, reporters pointed out that there were more than 20 police vehicles on Soy Street, while a large group of police officers charged from Shan Tung Street towards Langham Place.

At 23:43, a large amount of tear gas was fired on Soy Street. Riot police then fired another round of tear gas without prior warning. The black flag was not raised until the teargas bombardment had stopped.

At 00:01 on Nathan Road, police fired tear gas grenades again without any warning in advance.
