Hong Kong demonstrators in London and Liverpool: we only remember the shot Tsang Chi-Kin on the 1st October.

October 1st marks the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Hong Kong residents demonstrated in London, Liverpool and other cities in the United Kingdom. In London, the Hong Kong Liberty, together with other groups of Hongkongers, Tibetans, and Uyghurs held a joint rally and march, which were attended by about 1,000 people. Winnie, a participant, expressed her belief that this day is not a day to celebrate for the Hongkongers. “I believe that many Hongkongers, starting from 1st October, will only remember Tsang Chi Kin, (the youngster in exile) who was shot with a live bullet (not the Chinese National Day)”.

At the rally, Finn Lau, who is wanted by the Hong Kong police and living in exile in the UK, said that Hongkongers, Tibetans and Uyghurs are all victims and that we are united in organising today's rally to amplify our voices so that the international community can hear them more easily. “Never give up the faith.”

Taiwan angered by Chinese air force's largest ever incursion

Taiwan sharply criticised China on Saturday after Beijing marked the founding of the People's Republic of China with the largest ever incursion by the Chinese air force into the island's air defence zone.

Taiwan, a democratically governed island that is claimed by China, has complained for more than a year of repeated missions near it by China's air force, often in the southwestern part of its air defence zone close to the Taiwan-controlled Pratas Islands.

Taiwanese fighters scrambled against 38 Chinese aircraft in two waves on Friday, the Taiwan Defence Ministry said. It said Taiwan sent combat aircraft to warn away the Chinese aircraft, while missile systems were deployed to monitor them.
