Candles and flowers were placed around 'Yellow Raincoat Man' Leung Ling-kit's altar in commemoration to him. A paper-folded pig was also placed in front of the altar, stating that the Hong Kong people have not forgotten those who have sacrificed themselves for the movement, and that their original intention has not changed.

Lest We Forget: Large Group of Civilians Attended “Yellow Raincoat's” Memorial at Pacific Place and Showed their Respect

Today is the birthday of “yellow raincoat man”, Leung Ling-kit, who jump off a building in order to urge the government from establishing the Extradition Bill on 15 June 2019. A large group of civilians responded to netizen's call and showed up at Pacific Place to commemorate him.

Most civilians brought white flowers, while others brought along bottles of wine and lighted up incense to show their respect in the memorial.

Police Cordon Off Sogo Department Store to Prevent Hongkongers from Mourning Fellow Citizen

At around 17:20 in Hong Kong on July 2, 2021, over 50 police officers, all wearing stab proof vests, are stationed in Causeway Bay.

They cordoned off major roads nearby Sogo Department store to forbid citizens from laying flowers in commemoration of the man who died a day ago after knifing a policeman and stabbing himself.

Police warned of civilians in the shoppers' district of the violating gathering ban.

Since this morning, civilians have been bringing flowers to pay tribute to the man. One civilian offered free hug to encourage fellow Hongkongers in challenging times "Many Hongkongers need a hug right now".
