(14 Mar) Washington – Dragonslayer, a Chinese post-90s born in Wuhan, once believed that if he doesn’t say anything politically sensitive, doesn’t do anything outrageous, obeys the authorities, and be a ‘refined egoist’ like many around him, his life could only get better.
 
A coronavirus epidemic completely changed his views. Dragonslayer said he doesn’t want to be “the silent majority” anymore.

(Absolutely shameless!) The CCP's mouthpiece is working at full capacity: "Before the outbreak in China, Covid-19 might have already begun spreading in Italy."

The Global Times stated that experts of a well-known medical institution in Italy found that as early as November and December last year, unknown pneumonia that highly resembles Covid-19 might have occurred in Italy.

Numerous of “Little Pink” (people who support and/or embrace the CCP) then left messages saying "it turns out that the United States was the culprit by spreading the virus and it has nothing to do with China", "Will Italy apologize to China?"

Satellite data suggests coronavirus may have hit China earlier: Researchers

//Dramatic spikes in auto traffic around major hospitals in Wuhan last fall suggest the novel coronavirus may have been present and spreading through central China long before the outbreak was first reported to the world, according to a new Harvard Medical School study.

//Though Chinese officials would not formally notify the World Health Organization until Dec. 31 that a new respiratory pathogen was coursing through Wuhan, U.S. intelligence caught wind of a problem as early as late November and notified the Pentagon, according to four sources briefed on the confidential information.

//“What we're trying to do is look at the activity, how busy a hospital is,” Brownstein said. “And the way we do that is by counting the cars that are at that hospital. Parking lots will get full as a hospital gets busy. So more cars in a hospital, the hospital's busier, likely because something's happening in the community, an infection is growing and people have to see a doctor. So you see the increases in the hospital business through the cars… We saw this across multiple institutions.”

//The picture painted by the data is not in itself conclusive, Brownstein acknowledged, but he said the numbers are telling.

//Starting with nearly 350 images captured by private satellites circling the globe, Brownstein’s study first examined traffic and parking outside major hospitals in Wuhan for the past two years. Around the time the hospital traffic was surging, there was a spike in online traffic in the Wuhan region among users asking China’s Baidu search engine for information on “cough” and “diarrhea.”

//“While queries of the respiratory symptom ‘cough’ show seasonal fluctuations coinciding with yearly influenza seasons, ‘diarrhea’ is a more COVID-19-specific symptom and only shows an association with the current epidemic,” according to the study. “The increase of both signals precede the documented start of the COVID-19 pandemic in December.”

Coronavirus: Wuhan officials tried to 'cover up' truth about disease, says expert

(27 Jul) Officials in Wuhan removed crucial evidence from a seafood market thought to be at the centre of the Covid-19 pandemic, leading microbiologist Professor Kwok-Yung Yuen at the University of Hong Kong claimed. He wanted to inspect the market but it had already been disinfected. "The crime scene is already disturbed... We cannot identify the animal host, which has given the virus to humans," Yuen said. He believed that local officials delayed in passing on pertinent information.

While genetic sequencing was unveiling similarities between the new illness and SARS in early January, Yuen diagnosed a family living in Shenzhen who had just returned from Wuhan. He said Beijing continued to play down its seriousness despite evidence of human transmission. "I know how efficient [sic] the virus was spreading," he said. "If you don't make use of every hour, you are in big, big trouble."

Professor Andrew Tatem of the University of Southampton told Panorama: "If the same interventions that were put in place on 23 January had been put in place on 2 January, we may have seen a 95 per cent reduction in the number of cases."

Ex-legislator finds significantly lower mortality rate in 5th wave of COVID-19 outbreak in HK, questioning government's ever stricter control measures

Perry Chan Pui-yin, former pro-democracy legislator representing the sector of medical doctors in Hong Kong compiled and tabulated the number of deaths in connection to COVID19 since 2020.

Chan concluded that among the total number of 40,700 confirmed cases in the 5 waves of COVID19 outbreaks, 259 patients passed away, equivalent to a mortality rate of 0.64%.

However, in the 5th wave alone, 46 died among the 28,069 confirmed cases as at February 18. That is to say, the morality rate has reduced significantly to only 0.16%.

Its worth noting that delay factors should be considered alongside with mortality rate during an outbreak, as it could take as long as 2-3 weeks to record a related death.

Among the 46 death cases recorded during 5th wave of COVID-19 outbreak, 40 of them had not vaccinated, 3 others had 2 doses of Sinovac vaccinations, 1 had 1 dose of Sinovac vaccination while the remaining 1 had two jabs of BionTech vaccinations.

Chan stressed that these data should be read in relation to the patients' age and background in order to avoid a biased conclusion.
