China and Italy used different age brackets in statistical profiling. For example, China's age 0-19 cohort corresponds to Italy's 0-18 cohort.

From this, China's official data shows 2.1% of the population from this cohort were confirmed to have the virus. Italy shows 1.1% in its respective cohort.

The diagram's central axis (in grey) marks the approximate divisions in age range for China and Italy in ascending order. It starts from ages 0 to 70 to facilitate comparison.

On the left of the central axis is the infected population percentage across different age groups in China (in green). The median age of confirmed cases is 46. Average mortality rate is 4%.

On the right (in red) are the figures for Italy. The average mortality rate is 9%. Median age of positive cases is 63.

//The country’s military are flying Covid-19-positive patients in from France and Italy in an effort to help countries’ whose health services are struggling to cope with the crisis.

//Germany has a large number of coronavirus cases but a relatively low death rate compared with Italy’s and its health system has so far coped comparatively well with the crisis.

China Isn’t Helping Italy. It’s Waging Information Warfare

//Italy is an ideal outpost for China’s wide-reaching propaganda effort to cover up its own responsibility for the global spread of the new coronavirus, all the while presenting itself as a compassionate power aiding Western countries in need.

//The government has been pursuing a two-pronged strategy that carefully combines sending medical supplies to assert its relevance in a leaderless world—call it mask diplomacy—while at the same time spreading conspiracy theories to conceal the true origin of the virus. In this “global battle of narratives,”

//it’s also led by a government coalition that includes the Five Star Movement, a Euroskeptic and increasingly pro-Chinese party that has for years relentlessly promoted a stronger relationship with Beijing while downplaying the traditional trans-Atlantic alliance and fueling suspicion toward NATO

//Recently, China’s state media outlets suggested the new coronavirus originated in Italy, not in Wuhan, by shrewdly twisting the words of the Italian physician Giuseppe Remuzzi

//it was part of a commercial deal formalized a few days before in a phone call between the foreign ministers of China and Italy, Luigi di Maio and Wang Yi. Italy was buying medical equipment from China, but the government took advantage of a parallel donation made by China’s Red Cross to make it look like an instance of its “politics of generosity.”

//selectively praising China’s generous efforts while downplaying the belated solidarity coming from EU members

//If the Chinese government knew [about the virus] and didn’t tell it publicly, it committed a crime against humanity

//The Five Star Movement has long been a hotbed for conspiracy theories and fake news

//France and Germany combined have now donated more masks to Italy than China, and Austria contributed 1.6 million more. German hospitals are taking care of some patients from Italy, while France donated 200,000 protective suits.

Darwinism in the Pandemic

//And Europe, including Switzerland, crammed full of elites, is a complete mess under this pandemic.

//Wuhan Pneumonia is a major reshuffle of global intelligence. Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan and South Korea are ranked the top four respectively in terms of community response. The people from those areas did not have any convoluted arguments. They just acted quickly to protect themselves once they encountered the virus.

//Taiwan is not part of the WHO, or in other words, the Triad [organised crime syndicate]. The Taiwanese people, including President Tsai Ing-wen, knew from the beginning that the African Director-General of the WHO, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, was a liar.

//It became the world's most learned in the specialisation of tropical diseases. Hong Kong should have been the worst affected after the Handover. However, Hongkongers experienced over 20 years of political resistance. From the protests against Article 23 to the Umbrella Movement to the Anti-ELAB Movement, Hongkongers continually underwent rebirth in the wake of war and trauma, making them highly sensitive to distress.

//In terms of confronting the virus, the quality of awareness and response within the communities of Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea and Japan is better than any European country. This is a completely new phenomenon.

Mafia distributes food to
Italy's struggling residents

//As Italy struggles to pull its economy through the coronavirus crisis, the Mafia is gaining local support by distributing free food to poor families in quarantine who have run out of cash, authorities have warned.

//“Millions of people work in the grey economy, which means that they haven’t received any income in more than a month and have no idea when they might return to work. The government is issuing so-called shopping vouchers to support people. If the state doesn’t step in soon to help these families, the mafia will provide its services, imposing their control over people’s lives.”Antimafia investigator said.

//The ramifications of the lockdown in Italy are affecting the estimated 3.3 million people in Italy who work off the books.

// There have been reports of small shop owners being pressured to give food for free, while police are patrolling supermarkets in some areas to stop thefts.

//The question of distributing food parcels is a tactic as old as the mafia itself, where in the south of Italy bosses have customarily presented themselves to the people as benefactors and local power brokers, initially without asking for anything in return.

//Dozens of investigations in the south have led to the arrests of politicians who have aided and abetted the mafia, and who were elected with the support of local Mafiosi who forced citizens to vote for them in exchange for services, such as a simple food parcel.

//This week, Itay’s antimafia prosecutor’s office said bosses would offer their virtually endless criminal capital to businesses in need, and then swallow them up. Then, they will use those businesses for money laundering profits from the criminal activities.

Pompeo Raises Concerns on China’s Economic Expansion into Italy

The US state secretary Mike Pompeo has raised his concerns on China’s plan to expand its economic influence into Italy during his visit to the Mediterranean country.

Pompeo met with the Italian foreign minister Luigi Di Maio and co-hosted a press conference. At the meeting, Pompeo raised his concerns with Di Maio on the CCP’s attempt to leverage their economic strength in Italy to their strategic advantages. He also urged the Italian government to consider carefully the national security issues involved in the technology provided by tech companies associated with the CCP and the personal privacy risks it poses to Italian citizens.

Di Maio said Italy understood the US’ view and knew their concerns over the construction of 5G infrastructure in Italy. He also said he was fully aware of the responsibilities involved in handling safety issues and promised that he would stay alert as 5G technology is phased in.

Series A Club in Italy - Kalidou Koulibaly asked for release of Uyghurs; Chinese Internet Troll: Wish Them All Have Broken Legs such Orangutan!

(02 Oct) China have crushed and persecuted millions of Uyghurs over many years, poor human rights reputation have already spread around the World, Mesut Ozil is blocked by the media in China due to his speech of criticising China persecuted Uyghur in the Twitter. His name could not be found in any press or report in China, superseding by “Number 10”. Last Thursday, Napoli’s defender Koulibaly Koulibaly posted in his Instagram for expressing his support for Uyghur who were detained in the Xinjiang Re-education Camps. However, his behaviour, again, was led to Chinese netizen leaving comment under his Instagram post, some even insult this defender of Napoli as “Oranguton”.

China was alleged to build Re-Education Camps in Xinjiang for the purpose to persuade Uyghur, which have been leading to many supports for Uyghur from SportStars. Time to express support from Koulibaly on Instagram: “Millions Uyghur Muslim are detained and tortured in concentration camps in China. Not for what they do, but for who they are. This is the largest scale of imprison in 21th Century, it must be ended!”

China netizens immediately attacked Koulibaly by leaving comments in his Instagram post:”an Orangutan have not yet evoluted”, “object with Cerebral Palsy broke your legs”, “You are also brain-washed by overseas media, innocent please don’t speak bullshit”. It is believed that media in China will use the same way to block this defender of Napoli, by naming him as “number 26”, after Koulibaly supporting Uyghur in Instagram.

Apart from Koulibaly, a football star from French, Franck Ribery, also publish relevant post in Instagram, to stand with Koulibaly for expressing their support for Uyghur. But Ribery expected the attack from Chinese netizen, so that he had closed the leaving comment function in advanced.

Majority of tomato production around the world uses tomatoes from China

A recent investigation into tomato production chain revealed, with reference to the book <L’Empire de l’or rouge: Enquête mondiale sur la tomate d’industrie> written by Jean-Baptiste Malet, a French reporter, and a documentary <The Empire of Red Gold> from the story of the book, that many famous European tomato sauce brands are made with ingredients from China. Wuhan Pneumonia has engulfed the world. Prior to the pandemic, the effect of “One Belt One Road” had been surfaced with many ingredients and goods productions driven by Red (China), including tomato. Through the “One Belt One Road” exporting unfair and disqualified products, China is trying to control and swallow up human health and labor rights, leading the human kind to the hell.

2011, book author Malet discovered a tomato sauce manufacturer Le Cabanon in Provence, his hometown, was processing tomato paste in buckets marked with “Tomato Paste, by Xinjiang Chalkis Company, made in China”. This shocked Malet much because he had never imagined the tomato sauce made in a small town in south France, which he previously believed being made in France entirely, was manufactured by such semi-products from another corner of the world – China, a regime distancing far from tomato culture. Malet then visited America, France, Ghana and Italy for information re other brands.

Given the above, all ketchup used by McDonald should be from Xinjiang Chalkis Company, surely including the McDonald Hong Kong which is still owned by McDonald US for 20%, with the rest 80% held by CCP State-owned Enterprise.

Vice President of Italian Lower House Meets Taiwan Representative, Voicing Support for Ambassadorial Relations and Calling on Government Not to Submit to China

Vice President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies Fabio Rampelli met with Taiwan’s representative to Italy Andrea Sing-Ying Lee on 7 October. In a press release that followed the meeting, Rampelli said he supported Taiwan to officially set up embassy in Italy. He also called on the Italian government not to give in to pressure from China and to strengthen its diplomatic relations with Taiwan.

Referring to Lee as the “Ambassador of Taiwan,” Rampelli noted that the meeting, which he said was sincere and friendly, centred around that fact that Taiwan’s diplomatic mission is not officially recognized by Italy and can only be called an ‘Economic and Trade Office.’ Rampelli said this was because of the continuous pressure from the CCP on Italy and the EU and its unilateral claim that Taiwan was part of China.

Rampelli said he was surprised by the fact that Taiwan cannot have an embassy in Italy and form official diplomatic relations with it. He promised Lee that he would make every effort to enable Taiwan to enjoy fuller, de jure or de facto diplomatic rights in Italy and the EU. He added that he is aware of the pressure from CCP on the Italian government, evident from the silence on the Hong Kong national security law from Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and the foreign minister Luigi Di Maio.

The government used its special vetting powers to block Fastweb from implementing the supply deal with Huawei in the most sensitive part of its fifth generation mobile network.

The U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeii described a China noble telecoms technology as a threat to Italy’s national security while visiting in Italy in September.

Fastweb has picked Huawei as the sole supplier for its 5G core network. A source from government said that the government had vetoed the operation and asked Fastweb to diversify its suppliers.

Italy vetoed telecom group from using Huawei equipment, asking it to diversify suppliers

Italian government is reported to prevent a telecom group based in Milan from signing an agreement with Huawei, a Chinese telecommunications equipment supplier, on 5G core network equipment.

According to the report, Italian government asked the telecom group to diversify its suppliers, and government is evaluating whether Huawei can play a role in its 5G core networks.

The U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has visited Italy last month, he described Chinese mobile communication technology as a threat to Italy's national security. But Huawei denied and said it was ready to undergo any scrutiny.

In Beijing, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Chinese entrepreneurs strictly follow the laws, opposed using the national security as an excuse to discriminate and suppress Chinese telecom companies without any evidence.

Reuters: Italy Blocks Telecommunication Group Fastweb from Signing 5G Agreement with Huawei

On Saturday (Oct 24), Reuters quoted two sources in reporting that during the cabinet meeting last Thursday, the Italian government barred the national telecommunication group Fastweb from signing an agreement with Huawei to supply equipment for its 5G core network. It was the first time that Italy vetoed a supply agreement over 5G core network with Huawei, which showed that Italy has taken a tougher stance against Huawei.

During the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s visit to Italy last month, he stated that China’s mobile network technology will threaten the national security of Italy. Huawei strongly refuted the allegations. Its Italian branch subsequently stated that they were willing to undergo a thorough review to prove that its technology did not pose any security risk.

The Italian government, however, used its special vetting powers on Thursday to bar the Italian branch of Fastweb, a subsidiary of Swisscom, from reaching a supply agreement with Huawei. The 5G core network is seen as the most sensitive and is for handling sensitive data. A source from the Italian government told Reuters that the government vetoed the agreement and asked Fastweb to use a different supplier. The source also stated that Fastweb had initially chose Huawei as the exclusive supplier of 5G network. Huawei and Fastweb made no response.

Shifting Focus, NATO Views China as a Global Security Challenge

Prime Minister Mario Draghi of Italy spoke for many when he connected this summit with the Group of 7 summit meeting just concluded in Britain and compared them unfavorably with the period of Mr. Trump. “This summit is part of the process of reaffirming, rebuilding the fundamental alliances of the United States,” which were “weakened by the previous administration,” Mr. Draghi said.

And he pointed to Mr. Biden’s similarly important meetings on Tuesday with the leaders of the European Union, which Mr. Trump considered an economic competitor and even a foe. “We are here to reaffirm these alliances, but also to reaffirm the importance of the European Union,” Mr. Draghi said.

Switching from China's “One Belt One Road” to the United States' "B3W", Italian Foreign Minister: US is more important than China

United States stated in mid-June that it had established a global infrastructure plan called Build Back Better World (B3W), which compete with “One Belt One Road” from China. Italy, one of members from “One Belt One Road”, after joining B3W this year the Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio publicly indicated yesterday, although Italy and China have the trading and historical relationship, however this is absolutely not comparable.

Italy joined the “One Belt One Road” in 2019, is the first G& countries participate the project. According to Politico, Italy joined the project during the reign of former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, the former government hoped to use this to attract Chinese investment to revitalize its economy that has stagnated for decades. According to Reuters, the United States has previously expressed concern about Italy joining the China-led “One Belt One Road” initiative.

Taiwan government seeks to rectify country listing of Taiwanese films mis-labelled as "Chinese Taipei" at the Venice Film Festival

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan (MOFA) said at a virtual press briefing yesterday (August 10) that it had asked the Venice Film Festival to correct the country listing of two Taiwanese films mis-labelled as "Chinese Taipei". The two films submitted to the 78th Venice Film Festival, which will be open on September 1, are Chung Mong-hong directed "The Falls" and Tsai Ming-liang's documentary "The Night". MOFA said the request is to ensure that these films are not "unreasonably suppressed" to diminish Taiwan's sovereignty.

The MOFA said that the two participating films were submitted to the organisers under the country name of Taiwan, but were altered to "Chinese Taipei" on the official website without the consent of the applicants, after China protested to the Italian organisers. The MOFA and its representative office in Italy had immediately request a correction upon awaiting of this, but have yet to get a response from the organisers.

Italian city defies China bid to scrap dissident's art show

An Italian city is going ahead with plans to host an art exhibition by a Chinese dissident despite a request from China's embassy to cancel it.

The show, called "China is (not) near," is due to run from November 13 to February 13, 2021 in the northern Italian city of Brescia.

The exhibition by #Badiucao, a cartoonist also known as "The Chinese Banksy", is expected to denounce Chinese political repression and censorship of information on the COVID pandemic.

Brescia Mayor #EmilioDelBono told local press that his office would not comply with a request from the Chinese embassy in Italy to scrap it.

He said the friendship between the Italian and Chinese people "is not in question", but "I think it is important to show that you can stay friends while criticising some things".

The deputy mayor, #LauraCastelletti, earlier tweeted that "For us art and freedom of expression are an essential combination".

#Brescia Exhibits #Badiucao's Artwork that Mocks Beijing’s #Propaganda

Defying the calls of the Chinese government to cancel an exhibition in a northern Italian city, #Brescia is hosting the first international solo exhibition by the 35-year-old artist, #Badiucao, an exile from China who now lives in Australia.

Displaying a torture instrument such as a rocking chair, dissident artist Badiucao mocks the propaganda of Beijing in this exhibition named “China is (not) near”.

The show denounces political repression in China and the country’s censorship of the origin of #Covid19.

Beijing responded to the exhibition in anger, accusing Badiucao’s works of being “full of anti-Chinese lies” that “jeopardise the friendly relations between China and Italy”. The PRC's embassy in Rome sent a letter to Brescia’s town hall.

Deputy Mayor #LauraCastelletti responded, “None of us in Brescia, neither in the city council nor among the citizens, had the slightest doubt about this exhibition going ahead.”

"Brescia, known for its Roman ruins, has a long tradition of welcoming dissidents, painters and writers, in defence of artistic freedom”, she added.

In an interview, Badiucao, who is nicknamed the Chinese #Banksy said he is “very happy and proud” that the city “had the courage to say ‘no’ to China to defend fundamental rights.”
