Art Boxes with Meaningful Quotes on Display Outside of Pacific Plaza

19:22 | Pacific Place, #Admiralty

As dusk approached, art boxes lit up outside of Pacific Plaza, displaying words such as "No suspicious signs", "never forget" and "Liberate Hong Kong, Revolution of Our Times".

Quotes from other martyrs like Hong Kong Design Institute student, Chan Yin-lam were also featured on these litter art boxes.

These exhibits serve as a reminder that even though it may feel like darkness is surrounding us, but our passion still continues to glow like never before.

The police repeatedly ordered crowds gathering outside the exit of Pacific Place for Leung's memorial to immediately leave the scene, otherwise they will disperse the crowd and arrest citizens for the crime of illegal assembly. At the same time, large crowds continue to pour into Pacific Place while waving flags and demonstrating banners. Slogans of the mourners include: "Hongkongers, build our nation!", "Hong Kong Independence, our only way out!", "One Nation, One Hong Kong!", "There are no rioters, only tyranny!", "Release arrestees, we want justice!" among many others.

District Councilor: Police Obstruct Memorial in Tin Shui Wai, Citing Social Distancing Rule as Excuse

On the one year anniversary of Marco Leung Ling-kit's death, crowds gathered also in Tuen Mun and Tin Shui Wai, where District Councilors initiated memorials for his sacrifice to defend democracy for Hong Kong. Riot police were sighted at both locations.

In Tin Shui Wai, the gathering was initiated at Ginza Plaza. Dozens of police officers patrolled nearby locations from time to time and were seen negotiating with District Councilor Lam Chun to try and stop citizens from gathering.

Lam told reporters that police officers on the scene were purposefully obstructing the gathering, citing “social gathering restrictions” as excuses.

“Article 599G is nothing but an excuse to oppress the pro-democracy movement. Even when Ocean Park is reopening, the police is using this rule to try and stop us from organizing a simple remembrance gathering.” Lam said.

Hongkongers Urged Not to 'Get Used to the Way Things Are'

2005 | Pacific Place, #Admiralty

Do you still remember? If you do, don't get used to the way things are. Never get used to the way things are.

In the picture, civilians could be seen gesturing "Five Demand, Not One Less", a goal all Hongkongers have been fighting for in the past year. Banners were draped over the ledges, reminding Hongkongers not to get accustomed to the absurd reality.

Words by Mourners at Leung's Memorial

20:51 | Pacific Place, #Admiralty

"Tyranny pushed him down, but it is also going to push you and me down." (Right)

"The memorial is to remind ourselves to not forget why we started, our martyrs can only rest in peace when we have succeeded.

Over past year, have you done all that you could without any regrets?" (Left)
