1st Anniversary of June 12:
Hong Kong Pro-Democracy Movement in 366 Days, 8784 Hours

On June 12, 2019, Hongkongers protested outside the Legislative Council to oppose the second reading of the controversial extradition law.

The police deployed at least 150 rounds of tear gas, along with pepper spray and rubber bullets, to disperse peaceful civilians, leading to public outcry towards police brutality since then.

Since then, the protests in pursuit of freedom and democracy go on, despite adversity.

Record breaking 8,000 bodies discovered in Hong Kong last year: a forensic anthropologistā€™s perspective on those ā€˜no suspicionā€™ cases (Excerpt)

The latest Financial Committee documents revealed that there were 8,148 bodies discovered and 713 suicide cases in 2019. The figures were higher than the previous year (2018). Body discovery cases have reached a record high over last 3 years. With broken trust between the police and the public, some people are querying whether those who died under ā€˜no suspicionā€™ of foul play classified by Hong Kong police were really not suspicious.

Hong Kong Students Deeply Worry About Their Future

Ideologist, a students concern group, called for a rally on June 7 but was objected by the police. The group then set up a booth near the Clock Tower in Tsim Sha Tsui and later in Mong Kok to raise public awareness on the adverse impacts of the law.

The group shared their concerns for the future and the loss of confidence in the government.

Not only that the Education Bureau is indifferent to students' well-being during the coronavirus outbreak, the authorities' enforcement of gathering ban, objection of protests, political persecution and the legislation of draconian laws (e.g. Anthem Law, Nation Security Law) have shown the worsening encroachment of rights and freedom in Hong Kong.

We have no going back. Lets move forward 1/2

(1 Jun) We have no going back. The Yellow Economy is our Ace. And this censorship, is disturbingly alarming. If nobody is treating this seriously, in the future, any of us in the yellow camp, to start a company in HK, we will be under strict thought censorship. And this censorship can extend endlessly to your personal social circle, just like the Stasi in Germany.

The CCP, wants all the purchases under their control, for each and every dollar you spend, they want all that to be endorsed by the party, so they can control how you spend your money.

To Ms Karen SF Chan, Assistant Registry Manager, this is the final warning from us Hongkongers. If you insist on disqualifying The Coming Dawn Limited and ruining HKā€™s Free economy, you will regret!

Below we have listed some actions we can all do. I hope we can all help to voice out to the world, and defend our own yellow economy.

Below is what happened

The Coming Dawn Ltd, applied to start a limited company in HK, and the Company Registry has investigated the social media account, and requested the Coming Dawn to submit proof. The Registry inquired why this company is called ā€œThe Coming Dawnā€.

On 29 May, Karen Chan, Assistant Registry Manager, sent a letter to the Coming Dawn, requesting more information to confirm that the establishment of this company, fulfilled the Company Ordinance Chapter 622, Section 67 and 100. I have put the excerpt here, you can check the full content of the letter on their facebook.

The Ordinance
The Company may only be formed for a lawful purpose. Registrarā€™s opinion constitute a criminal offence, Offensive or otherwise contrary to the public interest

Regarding the Chapter 622 s100 (1)
Any reasonable man will not agree that the naming of the company ā€œThe Coming Dawnā€ is illegal by itself. The English name The Coming Dawn HK only tells that the darkness has come. How does this ā€œconstitute a criminal offenceā€? How is this name ā€œoffensive or contrary to public interestā€?

Regarding the Chapter 622 S67 (1)
The Company may only be formed for a lawful purpose. So I checked their facebook page, and there is nothing that can be related to ā€œunlawful purposeā€. Where is the boundary of lawful purpose?

Lets move to the second page. They checked the interview clips of The Coming Dawn with Apple Daily, and facebook posts. Below are their ā€œqueriesā€.

a. They required the applicants to clarify the roles of Mr R and Ms C (in the interview clips) in the proposed company
b. They requested to know if this limited company will act as a corporate vehicles and carry out the the activities as being published before by media.
c and d requested the applicants to explain relevant terms used in the interview and facebook.

This is undoubtedly, a purge of people and businesses.

This letter bears a lot of resemblance to those issued by electoral officers before, who disqualified election candidates based on ā€œimproper ideaā€ in their eyes.

We have no going back. Lets move forward 2/2

Part 1: https://t.me/guardiansofhongkong/22300

The Company Registry, must explain to the public the reasonable doubts in this case. Otherwise, all the laws and legislations can be used and executed as if the government has arbitrary power. And they can disqualify anything and anyone, as long as they please, just like how they treated protestors with the Rioting charges.

The government must clearly know that these laws, are different from ā€œIllegal Assemblyā€. If the mechanism, under this law, is not reasonable, and is unexplainable, this will bring a deadly impact to the HKā€™s business environment.

The Coming Dawn has responded to the letter, and publicised their reply.
Dear Ms Karen Chan assistant manager,
Thank you for your letter. We also have some doubts regarding your letter and will now address your queries.

ā€œBrothers & sistersā€ mean those who share the same visions and dreams, and will fight along with each other for the same goals, and are close as a family despite not biologically related.

ā€œYellow firstā€ means that we will treat ā€œbrothers and sistersā€ as our first priority in our everyday life.

The independents, refer to the group which supports HK Independence.

Yellow Economy, is also called the Conscious economy. The economy is formed together by businesses and consumers who share same values and aspirations, and are unwilling to Kowtou to Chinese capitals.

Resistance means that resisting and fighting against any tyranny. People will not be indifferent against unjust or unfairness. Despite in great hardship, resistance means to never give up.

ā€œTyranny will fallā€ refers to the thought that all regimes on history that kill people and stand on its peopleā€™s blood, will eventually lose their power. I am not sure how to explain further. This is very explicit in itself.

When the resources allocation is unfair, and when the society has become unfair and unjust, and when the system no longer protects its people, the society has to change. If this change comes the above, it is a reform. If this change is bottom up, it is a revolution.

I put all the paragraphs here so you can revisit all these ā€œtermsā€ and their meanings.

Even the Company Registry can execute and use the law arbitrarily. so we have the right and duty to tell them consequence of this. We all know ourselves cannot do much from the inside against this regime.
So we need a surgical operation from the outside!

First step to do is to use Twitter and tell the world about this Karen Chan.

We need to clearly that the worldā€™s spotlight is on this incident. If she DQ this company, we are going to tell the world HK has completely lost its free economy, and that this Karen Chan has a part in ruining the economy.

The World is watching.

Foreign capital retreat, HKD crisis, loss of jobs, and Stock market crash, are the result of her doings. She destroyed HKā€™s economy, because in the end, only she can make the final decision to send this letter.

What we have to do, on Twitter, is to tag all those councillors and legislators who supported us, the major credit rating agencies, and news platforms, Germany, France, UK, Japan, US, you name it and tweet with the below hashtags.

#chansaufong (most important)
#theworldiswatching (important)
#dictatedhkeconomy
#xiconomy
#noeconomicfreedom

You can make reference to the below post on what to write. You can also like, retweet, comment on similar tweets.

We need to make this happen until the world sees, and we need to make her realise that if she stops, everything is fine and if she decides to DQ, we will fully cooperate and speed up ā€œLaam Chauā€.

This is the contact information of this assistant registry manager, for passionate citizens to follow up. So Karen, you standing at the intersection of HKā€™s future, What will you do?

Rather speak and die, than staying silence and live.

Liberate HK, revolution of our times.

Government Gazettes Anthem Law, Pro-Beijing Camp Dominates Legislative Council on One Year Mark of Hong Kong's Pro-Democracy Movement

1440 | #LegCo
In the Legislative Council, Starry Lee, the pro-Beijing chairperson of the House Committee, expelled the pro-demoracy lawmakers who displayed placards and shouted "Lest we forget 612" from the chamber.

Today is one year after June 12, 2019, where citizens protested outside the Legislative Council to oppose the second reading of the Extradition Bill and were later suppressed by violent police operation.

On the same day one year after, the government gazetted the equally controversial Anthem Law and Beijing has passed plans to impose the even more draconian National Security Law.

Chain of students showing solidarity and support to teacher suffering political suppression

Disregarding possible reprimand, Heung To Middle school students formed a human chain in the afternoon of June 12 to show their respect and support to the teacher whose contract was terminated because she allowed her students to play ā€œMay Glory Be To Hong Kongā€ in a music examination.

This move to terminate her contract is widely regarded as a clear demonstration of political suppression and white terror.

One Year After Anti-Extradition Bill Protest, Government Enforces Another 'Evil Law' Anthem Law

On 11 June, Hong Kong's Chief Executive, Carrie Lam, signed the "National Anthem Ordinance" passed by the Legislative Council last week. The relevant regulations will be gazetted on 12 June and will take effect immediately.

Lam claimed that the national anthem, much like the national flag and the national emblem, is symbol of the People's Republic of China, and that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region is an inseparable part of China. Safeguard the dignity of the national anthem is what Hong Kong should do. She also said that with the official enactment of the "National Anthem Ordinance" coming into effect marks the Special Administrative Region's fulfillment of its constitutional responsibilities, embodying the spirit of "One country, Two systems".

The National Anthem Ordinance criminalizes the improper use or insult to the national anthem. In the past, fans at football matches that involved Hong Kong were often heard booing whenever the national anthem was played.

China's street-stall debate puts CCP Leader Xi Jiping and Premier Li Kexiang at odds

//PRC Premier Li Kexiang stressed the job creation capacity of street stalls during a news conference at the close of the National People's Congress, China's parliament. The term "street-stall economy" has become a buzz phrase

One private estimate says the country's jobless rate could be 20% if migrant workers who lost jobs in urban areas and returned to their hometowns are included.

Days later, China's latest buzz phrase was hit with an unexpected headwind. The Beijing Daily, the official newspaper of the Chinese Communist Party's Beijing Municipal Committee, on Saturday published a commentary saying that street stalls are "unhygienic and uncivilized," and not suitable for the capital.

The following day, state-run China Central Television followed up with a commentary to the same effect.

Over the past several years, President Xi Jinping's regime has cracked down on stalls as part of efforts to maintain security and strengthen governance. Li's public endorsement of the street vendors is seen as a policy reversal.

The conflicting messages have left cities in confusion. But almost immediately, local authorities reversed the decision.

Close aides of Xi hold key positions in the two organizations that openly criticized Li, namely the Beijing municipal government and the Publicity Department of the party's Central Committee, which oversees media outlets.

The more popular Li and his policies become, the more political danger they pose to Xi, as the wave could lead to a backlash against the president's iron-fisted rule.

This is why Xi's camp has been quick to counterattack Li's populism.

Tensions have been rising between Xi and Li because China is about to enter perhaps its most crucial political season in a decade.//

Farmers on Chinaā€™s Poverty Alleviation: ā€˜Weā€™re Doomed to Deathā€™

//To reach President Xi Jinpingā€™s poverty alleviation goals on time, local governments destroyed farmersā€™ homes and farmland amid the coronavirus outbreak.

//The poverty alleviation policy, launched by President Xi Jinping in 2015, is aimed at lifting 70 million impoverished households in China out of poverty by 2020. Treated as a political task for CCPā€™s officials, the implementation of the presidentā€™s vanity project continued amid the ranging coronavirus pandemic.

//In late February, local government officials informed some households in a village under the jurisdiction of Heze city in the eastern province of Shandong that they would soon be relocated.

//officials came to each household, telling people that they were taking residentsā€™ temperatures to prevent the spread of the virus.

//Many refused to open their doors, afraid to be infected. But the officials insisted, explaining that they were also introducing the new relocation campaign, aimed at poverty alleviation, the goal of which is to demolish old houses and build a modern village in their place.

//When a local farmer who ran a pesticide shop refused to sign, the countyā€™s Market Supervision Administration suspended his business license on a trumped-up charge that he was selling pesticides with expired sell-by dates.

//Some elderly relocated villagers compared Xi Jinpingā€™s poverty alleviation to Mao Zedongā€™s social and economic campaigns, like the Great Leap Forward. The drive, implemented from 1958 to 1960, aimed to transform China from an agrarian economy into a communist society based on communes.
