Protests around the globe against Chinaā€™s national security law for Hong Kong

Echoing the protest in Hong Kong, residents in Winnipeg and #Vancouver gathered respectively on Saturday to support their HK counterparts in fighting for #freedom from the clutches of China.

ā€œMy roots are still in Hong Kong, every time I saw the Hong Kong news, I feel the same with the Hong Kong people ā€” I still have family back there, friends, a lot of good friends who (are) part of this movement fighting for freedom,ā€ said Brian, the organizer of the demonstration.
ā€œPeople are protesting and asking for something thatā€™s a basic right, democracy.ā€

How bad is the situation in Hong Kong?

Out of fear of the reprisals from the Chinese Communist Party and concern for the safety of their families in Hong Kong, some protestors (in #Canada ) were only willing to speak with the media on the condition that their full, real names not to be disclosed.

Both local and oversea Hongkongers want the city to be democratic, and justice must be done for those who have been missing and unjustly abused, or have even sacrificed their lives for the causes. For that, #Hongkongers are united to fight on, for justice, for the city, and for future generations.
