Heavy Police Presence Again Affects Businesses in Shatin New Town Plaza

21:27 | #Shatin New Town Plaza
There were a large number of police officers marching through Shatin New Town Plaza.

This has been a very common sight over the past few 'Sing with You' activities that were organized in malls. Their presence do not just drive out people and shoppers, but also forces every single shop to call it a day.

In addition, 7-9 PM is the peak hour for shopping malls, as most people would have knocked off from work, or are looking for places to dine at.

Hongkongers Toss Joss Money on the 63rd birthday of Chief Executive Carrie Lam

At Mongkok's Langham Place, citizens prepared a cake with the words “5 Demands, Not 1 Less” written at the top of it and pictures of Lam. They scattered hell notes all around the place (a form of paying respects to the deceased commonly practiced by Taoists in Hong Kong).

Reporters were coincidentally also kneeling down on the floor (also an act of showing respect to the deceased in the Taoist tradition) to capture photos and footages of the scene.
