Multiple statues of law also permit Marines (and now Army as well per Hegseth) to assist this lawful mission of the NG.
It is dangerous, and possibly illegal (incitement of further civil disorder during an emergency) for Gavin to knowingly deceive the public about the Presidentโs authority in time of emergency.
