The U.S. regulator, the CFTC, has warned that prediction markets like Kalshi need much stricter controls for certain types of bets.
It’s not talking about all prediction markets though. The focus is on markets where the outcome depends directly on what one specific person does.
For example:
Will Trump say the word X in his speech tomorrow?
The problem is that these markets can be really easy to manipulate. Someone who gets access to the speech beforehand could bet on the outcome before everyone else. Or even the person giving the speech could simply choose to say or not say the word and change the result.
There have already been real cases
Gabriel Perez, a former White House teleprompter operator, had access to Trump’s speeches before they were delivered. According to the CFTC, he used that early access to trade on Kalshi based on words Trump was expected to say, making over $107K in profit.
The CFTC ordered him to give back $107,539 in profits and pay another $65K penalty
more than $172K total. He was also banned from trading for three years

New information regarding the Telegram wallet: You can access the wallet using a recovery phrase (seed phrase), but... only if the wallet was originally created through Telegram itself. In other words, you cannot simply import your existing wallet; instead, you must create a new one—because the network needs to keep expanding! 👍

This 3minute video shows the evolution of AI from “Attention Is All You Need” to AGI, and the whole thing was made with code
~7,400 lines of React + TypeScript, with the visuals rendered in SVG/Canvas, TTS for the narration, and Python for the soundtrack
Took around an hour to make and only used 7% of a weekly workload🐈

Magic Eden’s old contract just caused a huge scare
millions of dollars in NFTs were at risk
Something crazy happened in the NFT market today.
Hundreds of wallets suddenly started losing NFTs, with thousands of NFTs being moved for 0 ETH. Around 3,832 NFTs were affected
At first, everyone thought someone was draining wallets.
Then the real problem became clear: an old contract was involved. Even though magic eden stopped using it years ago, some wallets still had old approvals active.
Basically, imagine giving someone a spare key to your house two years ago, never needing them to come back, but forgetting to take the key back.
That’s when whitehat hacker 0xQuit stepped in😶
He started moving NFTs that were still at risk to a safe wallet, reportedly rescuing around 23,155 NFTs worth over $5.7M
Some major Yuga Labs collections were caught up too:
10 Meebits
50 Otherdeeds
10 World of Women
235 Desperate ApeWives
Around 660 WETH was also exposed, and not all of it was rescued in time
The full vulnerability is still being investigated, but the big lesson is simple:
Stopping using a marketplace doesn’t automatically revoke the approvals you gave it.
If you ever used Magic Eden’s old EVM marketplace, check your old approvals and revoke anything you no longer need🤷♀️
