Yesterday was another full and meaningful day as preparations continue for Monlam Chenmo. 🙏🏽🙏🏻🙏🏾✨

Yesterday morning, we held a beautiful welcoming ceremony for Buddha Maitreya. This sacred statue will grace the Monlam Chenmo Grand Puja, extending blessings to all who gather in prayer. It was a deeply reverent and joyful moment for everyone present. 🙏🏽❤️🥰😍

In previous years at MBS, space limitations meant we were unable to circumambulate together with all participants. This time, we have intentionally chosen a spacious open ground so that everyone can take part in the beautiful and traditional practice of circumambulating together with Buddha Maitreya. To walk together in prayer, in such an expansive setting, is truly rare and meaningful. We are immensely grateful for the many supportive conditions that have come together to make this possible.

To gather for Monlam Chenmo during the sacred Fifteen Days of Miracles of Buddha Shakyamuni is especially powerful. It is said that during this period, the effects of virtuous actions are multiplied many times over. 🙏🏽😍

Also yesterday, we met with a group of Geshes and monks to finalise the event set-up, incorporating Rinpoche’s thoughtful advice and guidance. Geshe-la carefully selected the thangkas for the Buddha altar, determined the throne placement, arranged where the Thousand Offerings will be presented, and planned the monks’ seating areas. Every detail is being thoughtfully considered to ensure the altar and set-up reflect the dignity and authenticity of the tradition.

This year marks our very first outdoor Monlam Chenmo Grand Prayer Festival. We are deeply committed to presenting the authentic Gelug tradition of Monlam Chenmo to our community. It is a great honour that the event will be presided over by H.E. Shartul Rinpoche together with the 22 Sangha Entourage from Gaden Shartse Monastery. May all be auspicious, and may the prayers of Monlam Chenmo bring vast benefit far and wide.

This morning at 9am, H.E. Shartul Rinpoche and the 22 Sangha Entourage visited the Paya Lebar open grounds to bless the land and event site. It was a beautiful, peaceful moment as prayers were offered for the smooth execution of the Grand Puja and maximise the benefit for all participants. Dear Friends! 🌼😍🙏🏻 Tomorrow marks the final day of preparations, and Sat 28th Feb will be our Monlam Chenmo Grand Puja event day!

Over the past week, the monks have been working tirelessly — including the newly arrived Geshes, who began serving immediately upon arrival. Their dedication, focus, and heartfelt effort in upholding this sacred tradition for all of us have been truly moving. 🙏❤️✨🥰🫡

I’ve been sharing regular updates on Facebook so that everyone can catch a glimpse of the Sangha’s devotion and the immense care poured into every detail of this meaningful event.

Here are a few gentle reminders:

𝟏. 𝐆𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞
If you are taking the MRT, please alight at Paya Lebar Station, Exit E. Walk straight along the pathway and you will arrive at the open field beside PLQ 1 office tower. Walking time less than 2 mins. 💪😁

𝟐. 𝐃𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬-𝐜𝐨𝐝𝐞 & 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐫
Please wear comfortable footwear, as we will be circumambulating the field together with Buddha Maitreya as we welcome His descent. You are encouraged to come in clean attire, preferably bright, auspicious colours — just as we would dress respectfully and joyfully when meeting Buddha Maitreya directly. 🥰🙏✨

𝟑. 𝐃𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤
You are free to have dinner at any of the surrounding malls from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. There is no requirement to be vegetarian during the Monlam Chenmo — this is entirely up to each individual. 🤗
