Robert Emmet - 1778
was an Irish Republican and nationalist, patriot, orator and rebel leader. After leading an abortive rebellion against British rule in 1803 he was captured then tried and executed for high treason against the British king George III of Great Britain and Ireland. HIs impromtu speech from the dock after he was charged is considered to be one of the best political speeches ever made. Daniel Patrick Mannix - 1864
He was Archbishop of Melbourne and advocate of Irish independence, he was considered to be one of the most influential public figures in 20th-century Australia.
