Where do TON go from the sale of usernames and anonymous numbers on Fragment? The correct answer is, of course, in Telegram. Pavel Durov, back in February 2024, stated that Telegram intends to limit TON ownership to 10% of the entire issue, which is 510 million TON. From the same day, Telegram began selling TON through over-the-counter (OTC) transactions with a discount of 10% to 50%, while setting locks (freezing) for 1-5 years.

Having analyzed the Telegram and Fragment wallets, you can see that they now have a total of 4% of the total TON emission volume, which means that most of the coins have already been sold. The entire process of selling and managing TON goes through vesting contracts, which release a certain number of coins within a set time frame. A separate section has even been created for this on the website vesting.ton.org (here is an example ).
While researching the wallets to which TON from Telegram were transferred, I discovered the following key points:
1. Staking : Telegram actively participates in TON staking through numerous single nominator pools. This allows them to earn an income of approximately 3% per annum.
2. Validators : Telegram for money with Fragment acts as a validator of the TON network. Despite this, validators are not active in voting. For example, in a recent vote to reduce network commissions, they simply did not cast their vote .
3. Investments in pools : About 30 million TON were allocated to pools on smart contracts from TON Whales. This decision seems strange, because they have smart contracts from TOP, and a whole liquid staking of Tonstakers. Don't trust?
There are no more interesting mechanics for using locked TON. Of the interesting buyers, only @whale could recognize them, they bought 3.6M TON, and the largest purchase from a stranger was 22.7M TON (Pantera Capital?)
Vesting and forecasts
Having carefully studied the vesting smart contracts of Telegram, we can conclude that all TON are frozen for a year with a total vesting period of 5 years. The first phase of unlocking will occur in February 2025, when a quarter of all TON will be unlocked, and then a portion of the coins will be released every month until 2028.
