The GSSI - Gran Sasso Science Institute offers 30 PhD scholarships in the following fields:
✨ Astroparticle Physics (8 scholarships)
🔢 Mathematics in Natural, Social and Life Sciences (8)
💻 Computer Science (7)
🌉 Regional Science and Economic Geography (7)
4 years – € 16,159.91 gross yearly amount – free accommodation – meal vouchers and canteen
⏳ The application must be submitted through the online form available at www.gssi.it/phd/ by 11 June 2020, 5 pm (Italian time zone)

💻Nicola Cotumaccio, al primo anno di dottorato in Computer Science al GSSI con una borsa di studio finanziata da Dante Labs, è coautore dell'articolo "On Indexing and Compressing Finite Automata", selezionato per #SODA2021. Quest'anno il comitato organizzatore di SODA, uno degli appuntamenti più competitivi e più ambiti dagli studiosi di algoritmica, ha ricevuto il numero record di 637 articoli, di cui solo 180 accettati.
Il lavoro risolve l'annoso problema dell'indicizzazione di automi finiti arbitrari. "Nella gestione di grandi quantità di dati, risulta imprescindibile disporre di tecniche di compressione", spiega Nicola.
