​TON App releases major global update

The Open Network (TON) decentralized applications (dApps) catalog has been updated with the introduction of a significant redesign of the service.

▪️ Main page improvements

The navigation and search functions have been improved to make them more user-friendly. In addition, various filters have been added to allow for quicker and easier application searches.

▪️ Category interface update

Animations have been incorporated into the interface and changes have been made to the way that the most popular services are displayed.

▪️ Application pages redesign

Descriptions have become more detailed, and soon dApps will receive tags explaining their main functions.

▪️ Developer suite interface update

It has now become more convenient for product creators to add services to the catalog.

@wallet now supports Tether (TRC20) for easy sending, buying, and trading

@wallet, a TON-based crypto wallet on Telegram, has integrated the Tether USDT stablecoin on the Tron network (TRC20). You can now get all the advantages of USDT within Telegram and can even send USDT to your friends with no commission fee.

Tether USDT is a stablecoin whose value is pegged to the US dollar, providing stability and liquidity for the crypto market. With @wallet, you can now send, buy, sell, trade, and receive USDT. @wallet has also created a new “Swap” tab which allows you to quickly exchange USDT for TON and vice versa.

Here is a short guide on how to deposit USDT into your @wallet. Please note that at the moment @wallet only supports USDT transactions on the Tron network (TRC20).

Bitfinex to list Toncoin (TON)

Bitfinex, the most liquid Bitcoin exchange, has announced the listing of Toncoin (TON). Henry Child, Head of Token Sales at Bitfinex, expressed excitement about TON's potential for users, describing The Open Network (TON) as "one of the most exciting blockchains in the Web3 space."

Bitfinex users will obtain access to TON via its mobile app or web platform, with advanced features available, such as margin trading, lending and staking available. Deposits for TON will be available from ≈10:00 (UTC) on March 27 and trading will commence from ≈10:00 (UTC) on March 29, with trading pairs US Dollar (USD) and Tether tokens (USDT).

The listing of TON on Bitfinex is expected to accelerate the mass adoption of the TON Ecosystem while providing Bitfinex users with more opportunities to diversify their portfolio and participate in the future of blockchain technology.

TON Foundation is launching the TON Wallet Challenge with a $60,000 prize pool.

The competition is open to iOS, Android, and desktop developers. Your task is to create a new TON Wallet application that can replace the existing wallets. Guidelines, evaluation criteria, technical requirements, and useful resources are available on GitHub.

To participate, you can submit your application through @toncontests_bot, and further information about the contest can be found on the official website.

The competition will last for 2 months and will end on May 22.

​Tonstarter receives $1.5M investment, launches new Open Builders initiative

The Tonstarter launchpad, which started its journey in The Open Network (TON) Ecosystem as a crowdfunding platform, has transcended its original concept by launching Open Builders, a new platform that brings together all the Tonstarter initiatives in one place.

In the near future, Open Builders will release several new tools for TON builders. Meanwhile, it is already helping start-up projects with a series of initatives:

— aiding public token sales
— attracting investments with the help of the VC/Angel Investors club
— supporting an introductory course for Web3.

The Tonstarter launchpad will become part of a new large-scale platform and will continue to conduct IDOs, develop the Community Incentives loyalty program and Tonstarter Learn.

A few days ago, Open Builders also launched its first original product, Open Rating, enabling anyone to provide reviews for blockchain projects.

Hack-a-TONx DoraHacks received 234 total submissions and now the Top-10 teams will present live to the judges.

TrueUSD (TUSD) is now live on The Open Network (TON)

TrueUSD (TUSD), a stablecoin pegged to the US dollar and audited in real time by an independent, industry-specialized accounting firm in the US, is available on The Open Network (TON) through Orbit Bridge. TUSD is among the fastest growing stablecoins in the digital token economy with a market capitalization of more than $2B.

Orbit Bridge is a cross-chain platform developed by Ozys that facilitates the seamless transfer of assets between different blockchains. Users can now store, send and receive TUSD directly on TON, as well as transfer it to other blockchains supported by Orbit Bridge.

We are excited to bring TUSD to the TON community and look forward to seeing the stablecoin deployed in many use cases for decentralized applications and transactions.

Telegram Premium service now accepts Toncoin (TON).

Fragment has added an option where users can purchase Telegram's Premium subscription service using Toncoin (TON), the native cryptocurrency of The Open Network (TON).

A three, six or 12-month subscription are all available using a Tonkeeper address.

Telegram Premium is a subscription service that unlocks additional exclusive features, while helping to support the development of the app.

The ability to pay for a subscription using TON will attract a lot of new users to the TON ecosystem and bring mass adoption closer.

The Playmuse marketplace has created a record label enabling NFT artists in the TON ecosystem to release songs on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music and Amazon Music while receiving royalties in Toncoin (TON).

Playmuse, an NFT marketplace for music and videos on The Open Network (TON), has signed a partnership with French distributor Believe.
 
Artists who release their music through the Playmuse record label will be able to distribute their work to more than 200 streaming services worldwide, including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music and Amazon Music, while having the option to collect royalties in Toncoin (TON).

The Playmuse marketplace is a project in the TON ecosystem that has been expanding at an astonishing speed of late. By the end of the second quarter of 2023, the company aims to onboard more than 2,000 artists, many of whom are household names.

​TON Network receives update on March 28

TON Foundation has always been diligent in emphasizing TON Blockchain’s stability and user protection as our top priority. The proof is on the blockchain: Since the beginning of last year, the network has not experienced a single breakdown or failure.

On March 28, the validators pushed an update that amended the network’s configuration.

The update improved:

▪️ Security against DDoS attacks
▪️ Network optimization when handling large throughput.

Over the past year, the number of accounts on TON Network has increased 14 times, with the number of transactions surpassing 120 million.

Despite the ecosystem’s meteoric growth, the blockchain’s transaction fees remain low.

The Open Network’s architecture gives it the flexibility to process a higher throughput comprising up to millions of transactions per second.
 
A stress test conducted not long ago concluded that, even if the number of validators on the blockchain dwindled to only 12, the network would still be able to handle the current load — but times 100.

TON is equipped with state-of-the-art blockchain technology and is poised for mass adoption.

Bit.com hosts AMA on The Open Network (TON)

Pavel Braverman, a quantum analyst at Darley Technologies, along with KD Chen and Toya Zhang from Bit.com held an AMA on new instruments for Toncoin (TON) available on their platform and discussed TON options.
