Azbit Lists Toncoin (TON)

Thanks to support from the Tegro team, the Toncoin, Tether tokens (TON/USDT) trading pair is now available on Azbit, a top-50 centralized exchange. Azbit is a next-generation exchange supported by Roger Ver, CEO of Bitcoin.com. The platform's daily trading volume exceeds $260 million and it serves more than 500,000 clients worldwide.

This represents yet another important milestone for The Open Network (TON) as we continue to expand our reach in the Web3 space.

GAGARIN has launched a decentralized token staking service

The GAGARIN launchpad now offers on-chain staking powered by smart contract. Users can access 5 different options for fixed, TON-based token staking for different time periods.

This is second such DeFi solution available in the TON Ecosystem, following the recent release of a similar service by Fanzee.

​Toncoin has reached a major milestone, entering the top 5 Non-EVM coins based on daily trading volume

Yesterday, Toncoin achieved a remarkable feat by reaching a daily trading volume of $3.4M on decentralized platforms! Based on its daily trading volume, TON has now climbed to 5th position in the Non-EVM cryptocurrency ratings, surpassing Aptos by 4.46 times.

TON Blockchain is now in 23rd position in the TVL ratings of Non-EVM cryptocurrencies.

This surge in TON's trading volume and TVL is thanks to the recent airdrop by Megaton Finance, which distributed $500,000 worth of tokens to the 1100 participants of the Tonstarter Community Incentives program. This was the largest airdrop in the history of the ecosystem, and it has propelled TON's popularity to new heights.

This is a huge achievement and a sure sign of TON's promising future.

​The Open Network (TON) announces results of quarterly grant program for advancing growing ecosystem

Today, we’d like to share the results of TON Society’s most recent grant rewards program. Six outstanding projects have been chosen for their contribution to the development and growth of the TON ecosystem.

1. TON TLV Meetup: A community initiative that organizes events and workshops for TON enthusiasts and developers in Tel Aviv, Israel.

2. TON Link: A project that aims to improve the consensus mechanism of TON by implementing Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus features.

3. TON&Co. Platform: A platform that provides tools and resources for creating and deploying decentralized applications on TON.

4. Tonana: A dApp that enables cross-chain exchange of digital tokens with various wallet options.

5. TON Run: A homepage that aggregates and displays all the information related to the TON Adnl protocol and intranet, helping users navigate the decentralized landscape.

6. Rift: A project that simplifies interaction with TON Blockchain by offering easy contract deployment and testing options.

​The Whiterabbit team, a contributor to the TON: DeFi Landscape report, has published a new article about TON mining history analysis.

The team conducted an on-chain analysis to examine the connections between the initial miners, validators, and the core TON community.

Article Summary:

▪️96% of the TON supply was distributed to miners between July and August 2020;

▪️At least 85.8% of the supply was mined by a few groups of miners connected with each other and affiliated with TON Foundation;

▪️Funds from these miner groups are used by network validators that control 2/3 of the TON Blockchain PoS consensus;

▪️The recent vote to freeze inactive wallets will give confidence to potential investors and builders but ultimately more steps need to be taken to ensure long-term confidence in the ecosystem.

▪️Data collected from TON Blockchain is made available to enable the reproducibility of research.

In addition, TON Foundation provides a commentary at the end of the article highlighting the need to continuously support transparency and visibility.

We are glad that independent research groups are taking an interest and analyzing TON for the benefit of the wider community.

Over the next few weeks, TON Foundation plans to release a summary blog post on the TON Blog and an open dataset on the TON website, which will cover the history of mining.

Hack-a-TONx World Tour Highlights

The Open Network (TON) team has been collaborating with DoraHacks, the largest multi-chain hacker platform in the world, to organize a series of meetups and hackathons. The event includes a $300K prize pool and a $250M Ecosystem Fund to be shared among participants.
