The validators have voted
Yesterday, the validator vote about optimizing TON's tokenomics ended.
More than 75% of all validators voted in favor of temporarily freezing dormant early mining wallets — these addresses were not activated before the end of the voting period and now will not be able to be activated until 09:00 (UTC) on February 21, 2027. This decision was supported by both the validators and the wider TON community.
171 wallets were deactivated with a total balance of 1,081,389,417 Toncoin (more than 20% of the total supply).
For the next 48 months, network users can be sure that these tokens will not cause market turmoil or be used for any kind of manipulation.

Toncoin has reached a major milestone, entering the top 5 Non-EVM coins based on daily trading volume
Yesterday, Toncoin achieved a remarkable feat by reaching a daily trading volume of $3.4M on decentralized platforms! Based on its daily trading volume, TON has now climbed to 5th position in the Non-EVM cryptocurrency ratings, surpassing Aptos by 4.46 times.
TON Blockchain is now in 23rd position in the TVL ratings of Non-EVM cryptocurrencies.
This surge in TON's trading volume and TVL is thanks to the recent airdrop by Megaton Finance, which distributed $500,000 worth of tokens to the 1100 participants of the Tonstarter Community Incentives program. This was the largest airdrop in the history of the ecosystem, and it has propelled TON's popularity to new heights.
This is a huge achievement and a sure sign of TON's promising future.
