TON is a third-generation proof-of-stake blockchain.
Ever since it started developing the network, the TON Foundation has been preaching three commandments that illustrate its commitment and philosophy of the TON blockchain.
Today, we’re going to share them with you.
The three commandments of TON:
1. World-class transaction speeds
The TON blockchain is practically unrestrained in terms of the number of active users it can have interacting with the network while providing low transaction costs, which allows TON to process millions of transactions per second.
For comparison’s sake, Ethereum can only process 20 transactions per second, which leads to the network having exorbitant transaction fees and slow transactions.
How does TON achieve lightning-quick transactions?
Currently, TON is using two intersecting blockchains: a master chain and a workchain.
Whatever the case may be, TON is ready to show off its scalability.
When throughput reaches a certain threshold, the workchain breaks into shards: separate blockchains that have smart contract capability and keep a ledger of users’ funds.
Consequently, every shard is further able to split into more sub-shards, the number of which can reach up to 2^32.
TON can exponentially increase its scalability and transaction speeds thanks to this advanced sharding technology.
2. Streamlined and user-friendly interfaces.
TON’s primary goal is to onboard billions of users, which means that app interfaces must be intuitive and easy to use for every user — instead of only being for a small group of specialists.
It was only a short while ago when tech geeks and the curious were the ones using and interested in decentralized networks who would spend days and weeks studying blockchain technology.
Developers at the TON Foundation are shifting the paradigm and allocating a large portion of their time to making decentralized applications simple to use.
3. Decentralization.
Many blockchain projects are suffering from the labors of trying to offer decentralization. A prime example, Ethereum has a high degree of decentralization; however, it pays a steep price with its slow transaction speeds and high gas fees.
Meanwhile, Solana and Binance Smart Chain are much quicker and cheaper blockchains, but their levels of decentralization have been at the center of criticism recently.
Having witnessed missteps from other blockchain projects, TON has been striving toward complete decentralization, offering stability, reliability, and a path to a safe and self-sustaining world.

Decentralized exchange Biswap has listed Toncoin.
Biswap is one of the largest decentralized exchange platforms in the world with over 1 million active users and has Binance as one of its main partners.
Biswap’s daily trading volume exceeds $80 million, with a total value locked of about $469.3 million.
Swapping is available in the Toncoin/USDT pair.
What’s more, Toncoin holders can add liquidity to the Toncoin-USDT pool and stake their crypto of the same pair to earn rewards in the form of BSW, the native token of the Biswap platform.

VK.com former CEO Andrew Rogozov has joined the TON blockchain project.
Andrew Rogozov, former head of social media platform VK.com, is joining the team at the TON Foundation and will oversee product development, all of which he shared in an interview with crypto news outlet CoinDesk.
Andrew was one of the first employees of the social network and began his career in 2007 under the tutelage of Pavel Durov.
After Durov departed from VK.com, Andrew became the company’s head of product and operational management, later becoming CEO.
In 2021, he was named vice president of VK (previously Mail.ru Group) and, currently, is in charge of the social network’s consulting committee. Additionally, Andrew manages experimental projects in the social network industry and other services with social mechanics.
Andrew will continue working at VK, but in a diminished role, serving as an advisor.
The community welcomes Andrew and is proud to have such an experienced individual in the industry onboard. We wish him all the best and can’t wait to see how his influence on future projects will unfold.

The first TON-based NFTs are coming to the network.
We’re pleased to announce that an official TON-based NFT platform where users will be able to buy and sell nonfungible tokens is in the works.
The NFT marketplace is still in its early stages of development, so boasting about a rich catalog of products will have to be put on hold — but it will have its day. Although waiting for its launch is unbearable, we’re more than happy to shed some light on other quality projects in the interim.
One of these projects is TON Diamonds, a team of NFT pioneers on The Open Network that has created 10,000 unique, animated nonfungible tokens.
Currently, there are no TON Diamonds available for sale; however, once the TON-based NFT marketplace launches, users might have an opportunity to get their hands on those coveted NFT Diamonds — that’s if their owners choose to sell them.
Once the NFT marketplace launches, the TON Diamonds team will invest half of its sale commissions in the development of products and services in the TON ecosystem.
What’s more, TON Diamonds and the team at Tonkeeper have agreed on an integration that will let users store their NFTs directly in the app.

A message for TON developers.
In addition to our Weekly TON Digest, we are going to start publishing a digest in which we’ll feature new projects in the TON ecosystem.
Therefore, we’d like dev teams that have already created products for TON to write to us.
All you need to do is write a short description of your project in English (300 characters or fewer) and send it to our manager @toncoin_app.
To be featured in our digest, your project needs to have a website, a mobile app, and either a Telegram bot or another resource that has a description of your product.
Projects that fascinate us will be featured in our TON Community Telegram channels.

Toncoin is changing its ticker.
We’d like to inform you that Toncoin will soon change its shortened ticker symbol on all crypto exchanges to “TON.”
However, its full name will stay the same — Toncoin.
The change will happen gradually, so please pay attention to Toncoin’s ticker when trading because it might have its old ticker on some exchanges while having its new ticker on other exchanges.
For Wrapped Toncoin on Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain, there will be no change (TONCOIN).
