The bridge between TON and BNB Chain is up and running!
You can find it here: ton.org/bridge/bsc
Now you can transfer your Toncoin to BNB Chain and back. The bridge works on the same principles as TON–Ethereum bridge, but there is only one limitation:
The minimum transfer amount is 10 Toncoin.
You can find the address of the Toncoin smart contract (BEP-20) at ton.org/coin
Check out a couple of ideas for using the bridge:
💎 First, add BNB Chain and TONCOIN token to MetaMask. Then, you can use Wrapped Toncoin in the BNB Chain blockchain ecosystem. Follow these instructions.
💎 The token is available on PancakeSwap, a decentralized exchange on BNB Chain similar to Uniswap.
There, you can not only trade crypto but also earn local currency, CAKE, by farming, staking, or just by winning the lottery 🎲😎
Read this article to learn more about PancakeSwap.
Although the TON–Ethereum bridge appeared only a month ago, the @tonblockchain developers have already launched a new one!
Friends, TON is growing, getting stronger, and moving toward its goal 💪

What happened to Facebook?
Hello! 💎 Let’s engage in a philosophical discussion bringing up recent news.
So, what was it:
– Facebook and almost all of its sites and services collapsed with a terrible crash: Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp were down for hours. Half of the Internet that uses Facebook experienced problems.
– People flocked to other social networks that also went down because they weren't ready for the surge of traffic. It’s worth noting that our favorite Telegram welcomed 70 million new users in one day and fortunately survived.
Whose fault is it?
A technical investigation carried out by CloudFlare is now available https://blog.cloudflare.com/october-2021-facebook-outage.
In simple terms - an administrator apparently misconfigured Facebook's network.
Why it couldn't be fixed quickly:
– Nothing worked on FB: all their internal messengers and contact books went down.
– It got worse, Facebook employees could not get into the office because their ID’s did not work either.
Can it happen again?
Absolutely. Today's Internet is based on the principles that were in place 30 years ago.
Back then a world wide web or social networks were a fiction. The Internet has become what it was destined to become: centralized, vulnerable, and therefore not stable.
The recent shutdowns of Cloudflare, Amazon, Facebook, and other major services have demonstrated just how fragile our Internet is. And there is an urgent need to fix it.
You probably know one project that pursues this goal, don't you? 💎

Developers on the look-out for decentralization and stability of TON.
As you know, mining is used for the initial distribution of Toncoin.
Just a year ago, few would have believed that the mining of Toncoin was to become so popular and the coin itself would gain any value. Back then, the open-source developers had to entertain themselves by researching and testing the original TON technology left behind by Telegram.
The project has been evolving in a spontaneous manner; yet, by now total mining hashrate hits a whopping 14 Terahash per second!
In simple terms, a lot of people want coins and there are multiple servers involved in mining those coins.
An undeniable advantage of mining is that it allows EVERYONE to get coins on equal terms.
You don’t have to be rich. All you need to get coins from a PoW giver is a computer with a graphics card.
Imagine that Toncoins were distributed through a typical ICO. Then your chances of getting coins were slim.
However, benefits come with challenges:
💎 First, we have no idea who the miners are, let alone what they plan to do with the tokens once they get them.
💎 Second, in any free environment you might get the likes of Bill Gates who will hold large amounts of coins.
Neither is a problem for now, but both issues increase uncertainty.
Tasked with maintaining stability and decentralization of TON today and in the future, our developers have found a truly elegant solution!
Wonder what it is? Check out our next post for the whole story

Developers on the look-out for decentralization and stability of TON.
Part 2.
Hi everybody! 😎 Last time we talked about the challenges that TON developers had to face.
Here is a brief recap:
Mining-based coin distribution is a great option for at least two reasons:
1. It is truly decentralized.
2. It creates a level playing field for everybody who wants to get coins on equal terms.
Yet, challenges emerge:
We don’t know who the miners are or how they plan to use the coins in the future; in the early days of mining when the competition was less stiff, the likes of Bill Gates holding big volumes of coins may have appeared.
Suppose they, inadvertently or deliberately, decide to harm TON tokenomics?
TON Foundation team expertly handled the issue. Their approach is explained in the recent update of the Primer document.
What are the likely intentions of a Toncoin holder?
💎 To use tokens to develop new services and apps on TON or to interact with the existing ones.
💎 To exchange or sell coins.
💎 To invest coins into an initiative to earn revenues.
The first point is a clear case, and it is always welcome.
To enable items two and three, the TON Foundation announced new network components: TON Reserve and TON Nominators.
TON Reserve:
Toncoin owners can freeze their coins on an ad-hoc smart contract and convert them to BTC at a continuously rising exchange rate determined by a formula.
TON Nominators:
A token owner can lend coins to network validators and earn revenues from their activities.
And here is the killer feature of those components:
Investing Toncoins in these services will benefit major holders. At the same time, with more coins invested, the whole TON environment and cryptocurrency tokenomics will become more stable and secure.
Follow our updates for more information on TON Reserve and TON Nominators.

Who are the Nominators? Part 1
Hi, team TON!😎
Remember we have recently mentioned TON Nominators service? Today we will discuss what it is and why we need it.
You probably know by now what Proof-of-Stake is and who validators are. Being a validator on TON is cool, but it takes meeting some conditions:
💎First, you need powerful hardware; the chances of starting a validator node on your laptop are slim.
💎Second, to become a validator, a node owner has to put a LARGE stake; currently, it is around 600,000 Toncoins, or about $0.5m. This amount will only surge further, as the network keeps growing.
A large stake is a necessary evil.
Losing a small stake is not a big deal, and if stake requirements become lax, this is what will happen:
— Some validators will try to cheat the network, because cheating may earn them more than block validation.
— Some may try starting node software on cheap servers and will skip timely software updates.
— Validators may stay idle most of the time, as penalties are negligible.
All of the above will undermine blockchain stability. To avoid this, the validator's stake is set at a fairly big amount.
Here’s a question you might ask:
Is there a way for those who do have powerful hardware, but not 600K coins? Or for those who are not willing to invest time in installing and configuring a validator node, but still want to get Toncoin?
Well, it is exactly for those people that @tonblockchain developers create TON Nominators.
This service helps you lend your Toncoin to validators and share the validation reward with them.
Tomorrow we will tell you how this is going to work exactly, and how revenues will be split between validators and nominators, as well as how to become a nominator on TON.
Folks, click 💎 under this post if you find TON Nominators exciting!
The more feedback we get, the more details there will be in the next part.💪🏼

Nominators continued
So, here is how TON Nominators are going to work.
Imagine, you have a lot of Toncoin, but you don't want to buy or lease hardware, let alone maintain it.
Then, you can become a Nominator by simply lending coins to a validator and getting a share of their validation reward.
Or, here is another scenario:
Suppose you have a powerful server and the relevant technical skills, you would like to become a validator, but unfortunately, you don’t have 600,000 coins to make a stake.
Not a big deal, start a validator node on your hardware and pay a small amount of Toncoins for a potentially poor performance penalty, as for the stake amount, you can borrow it from the network.
Of course, the whole process is automated by an ad-hoc smart contract.
No personal correspondence or wallet-to-wallet transfers are involved, the blockchain handles everything for you. A lender sends Toncoin to a smart contract which guarantees that the coins will be used exclusively for validation and the reward will be shared.
The standard breakdown is as such: 60% to a nominator and 40% to a validator; other configurations are possible.
Note:
Investors only lend coins; they have zero control over the software or validators’ activities, which means more decentralization in the network.
Developers believe that after the release of the TON Nominators service, the number of validators in the network may top 400 and the total stake can reach 1bn Toncoins.
The larger the collective stake of the validators is, and the more stable and secure TON blockchain is, the more complicated it becomes for a single validator to take control over the network.
Well everyone, we are launching the service in early November! 🥳
Should you have more questions about TON Nominators, ask in the comments below and we will forward them to the developers and come back to you.

Follow up on the last post:
Many blockchains have a farming option where a user invests tokens and receives a reward.
Tokens invested in farming serve no meaningful purpose. It is a financial amusement ride for blockchain users, nothing more.
However, TON developers took a smarter approach.
Tokens invested in TON Nominators will facilitate decentralization, stability, and safety of the blockchain. The investors will not only get their rewards but also have a chance to contribute to a good cause.
It's interesting to know how developers are going to redefine other popular crypto stuff like NFT.

Hello, team TON! 💎
We've stumbled upon some fascinating research carried out by Capgemini that will surely grab your attention.
Here’s what it says...
... in 2 years, the share of people who use cryptocurrency for payment will grow from 10% to 45%.
In just two years!
''How come?'' I hear you ask.
Well, we all agree that the current financial world is nothing but an inconvenience. We often tend to overlook it, simply because we are used to it. Consider this:
💎 Commission fees: They’ve become so common, that they escape our attention. Sometimes, they make up 10% of the transaction amount.
💎Money transfers: It's slow, expensive, and rather difficult to send money from one country to another. If you've tried sending money internationally before, you know the time it takes to complete a transfer, it's far from practical.
💎 Limitations: It's one thing to send 10$ to help out a friend, but it's a different story if you've got to help out a relative with purchasing a flat. Even though you have all the documents needed, in the end, you will eventually end up spending all your time and effort talking with the bank.
The financial world is a world of bureaucracy.
However, cryptocurrency is "payments on steroids" (citing from the research), and it has the potential to change our society.
Surely, blockchains are not perfect.
Take Bitcoin and Ethereum for example. They are slow and quite expensive, and they are more likely to become a savings vehicle, although they aren't all that suitable for your usual daily transactions.
Most likely, blockchain is to become a leader in money transfer technology.
TON Blockchain already makes money transfers quick and cheap. We will also have TON Payments in the future, so it's likely that the @tonblockchain devs will step up the cryptopayments game. 😎

Message to the new miners:
Here's information for those who have decided to mine on Windows after reading the previous post.
How it works:
💎The giver smart contract generates a random computing task and awards 100 Toncoin for the right solution.
The only way to solve the task is with the brute force approach, which requires a high computing power.
💎The task is available to all miners on the network. The 100 Toncoin reward goes to the person who first comes up with the right solution, then a new cycle starts.
Obviously, powerful servers will more often than not come up with the right solutions quickly.
Yet, the design of the randomization algorithm implies that even a standard PC has a chance to resolve the task first if you're lucky.
Mining 100-300 Toncoin or more a month on a PC is real.
Great news seeing that mining with a PC takes no investment! While professionals spend hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on equipment each month.
All the guidelines are here, guys.💎
By the way, you can already meet those who were lucky to mine their first 100 coins in our chats.
Here’s a friendly tip: let your PC do the mining at night when you're not using it.

If you use the desktop version of the TON wallet, you will need to reinstall it. Follow the link to download: ton.org/wallets. Older versions are now obsolete.
Mobile wallets will resume working once they are updated.
A new update for the wallet's Android version is ready and available for download in the Google Play Store.
Keep in mind that you can also use Tonkeeper: the ultimate mobile crypto wallet that keeps your coins safe.
Please note:
💎The first synchronization of a newly installed mobile wallet may take some time. If you don’t see your balance and transactions within a couple of minutes, restart the wallet.
💎Tonkeeper is a new app, but it currently doesn’t support older wallets. Our developers are now working on solving this issue.

It's time for an AMA with the TON developers!
Over the past week, the TON Community channel has grown immensely, and the amount of discourse surrounding the project has risen with it in tandem. During this time, however, we've received a flood of questions, most of which are directed at the TON Foundation.
The @tonblockchain team of developers is always hard at work, but it also understands the importance of establishing a relationship with its supporters and community. Therefore, the developers are ready for your questions.
You can send your questions for the devs to our bot: @ton_community_eng_bot. The channel's administrators will select the most interesting questions and pass them on to the team, whose answers will be published in this channel.
Questions posted either in the chat or the comments section will not be considered.
