Hello, everyone 💎

Dear friends, there was some misunderstanding in the comments because some subscribers gave wrong answers to some of the questions.

To avoid some mistruths we selected the most BURNING questions and wrote a form of FAQ 😎

1. «How is it connected to Durov and the team of Telegram? Are you not concerned with them and is it just hype?»

💎 We’ve never stated that the project belongs to Pavel Durov or Telegram.

💎 The Open Network however is an immediate heir of TON, which was produced by the Durovs brothers. The Telegram team transferred the ton.org domain and the repository github.com/ton-blockchain to @tonblockchain developers.

Proofs:

— The first one: you can find the links in this post
— The second one: the article at CoinDesk

💎 Telegram uncompromisingly puts the red SCAM lable on all the channels that illegally try to cling to the messenger’s team. As you can see our channel is not "scammed " and we have thousands of subscribers.

2. «I bought these coins a year ago but the project got closed and I lost my money.»

You definitely bought a different coin with a similar name.

Our crypto became available for purchase recently. There're some similarly named tokens out there, but you need to buy Toncoin, so don't get confused.

In case you purchase TONCOIN in Ethereum blockchain, check the smart-contract address at ton.org/coin.

3. What's the actual price of the token?

The most convenient way to track is at https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/toncoin/.

4. How to buy?

Please, read the guide.

5. What are the current issues today? How many coins are in use?

The total supply of TON is 5 billion with the current annual inflation rate of 0,6% (for validators). Not yet mined ~60 million. This sum may be mined using POW.

6. Who are the largest coin holders?

Validators (read more here) and primary miners are the largest holders. The coins are shared among 78 000 network users.

7. Is there an option to verify the coin holders?

Yes! TON is a public blockchain. It means that you can check everyone's wallet address balance. The easiest way to do it is here.

If you have any questions — write in the comments 💎

What is mining?

We’ve prepared some material concerning the mining of TON, now we’re going to tell you how it works and how to become a miner of Toncoin.

Even if you’ve never heard about mining — this post is for you!

You already know that in a blockchain there’s no central server that stores all the data.
We discussed it in this post.

Data is recorded on the lined up blocks. So where do these blocks come from?

The answer is: new blocks on the chain are created in the process of mining. In other words — computer calculations that build new blocks.

Roughly speaking, it happens in the following way: you buy a PC, connect to the network and the PC’s power serves the needs of a blockchain. Particularly, processes transactions and stores information, etc.

A blockchain network exists due to miners. The more of them, the more stable the database is.

Exactly miners produce new blocks in accordance with existing standards.

They get paid for their work, usually in the served blockchain’s crypto.

It’s easy to mine little-known coins because you don’t need powerful equipment to do it. You can even use your PC.

However, if the coin raises in price, things change:

When the price rises, thousands of new miners enter the fray and thus the power level needed increases.

Then there are mining farms. A farm is a set of devices used for the purpose of mining quickly and more efficiently.

There can be home farms or massive ones — huge spaces filled with professional equipment (as in the picture).

With the advent of such facilities, mining at home becomes impossible.

The same thing occurred with Bitcoin: in 2009 everyone could mine it using a basic home processor and there were several hundred such enthusiasts, but now there are about 1 million Bitcoin miners all over the world.

Overview:

— There’s no central server processing data in a blockchain. All the information is stored in blocks that are produced and served by miners.
— The more miners, the more stable a blockchain.
— Miners receive compensation for their work in particular blockchain’ crypto.
— The more popular a coin, the more expensive it becomes and more energy is required to mine it.

All of the aforesaid is relevant for Proof-of-Work blockchains.

As for Proof-of-Stake blockchains (such as TON), they don’t need mining to operate.

Trademark_Agreement — @DeCenter.pdf

Hello, everyone! Some breaking news for you:

We've already told you how TON Ventures/Ton Labs corporation (a developer of FreeTON) arrogated to itself the ownership of the TON brand and filed complaints with Apple and Google against wallets' developers.

Karma in action:

@DeCenter channel (one of the biggest blockchain communities) found somewhere a non-exclusive agreement between TON Ventures and the Telegram team, according to which TON Ventures agrees that it shall not challenge the validity of the Licensee's ownership of any of the Licensed Marks, as well as alter it and apply for any registration of it.

And then they breached almost all of the provisions of the contract🙂

It's ironic that the claimant violated the agreement.

Meanwhile, @tonblockchain developers continue working on TON, ignoring any kind of provocation💪💎

We attached the text of the agreement with Pavel Durov's signature.

What is blockchain-ecosystem?

We've already discussed the meaning of a blockchain. There're a lot of blockchains and they compete with each other. To gain users every network tries to develop a full-fledged ecosystem — including decentralized apps and services.

They're almost the same as the ones we are used to but much better =)

For example, an advanced ecosystem allows you to:

— Make any payments instantly

— Pay minimal commissions for transactions (or not to pay it at all)

— Tokenize your passport and use public services from a smartphone: get credit, register a marriage, etc.

— Buy and sell pieces of Digital Art and gaming items

— Secure your assets — all the transactions are recorded in a blockchain. If you purchase a coin, no one else can prove ownership of it except you.

— Count on 100% privacy: to make a transaction your don't need to provide personal data, nothing but the crypto wallet's address.

— In the future — you'll be able to make transactions not only in crypto, but in any tokenized asset: stocks, real estate or furniture.

— Avoid intermediaries. People transfer assets straight to each other without 3rd parties.

In other words, you'll be able to do all the same things you used to but faster, safer, cheaper, and privately.

TON Foundation team pursues an amazing aim — to unite all of the existing blockchains in a single network. Such a great ecosystem may be called the internet of the future — Web 3.0, quite literally.

And we are undoubtedly excited by this idea and encourage the developers🤘

Now TON may be mined with GPU (graphics card)

We’ve already told you what mining is. Today we’re going to discuss how to mine Toncoin. There are 50 million coins left in the smart-contracts and if you’ve got powerful equipment — welcome!

Previously you had to mine TON only with a central processor unit (CPU mining). However, some amateurs improved the process and made mining more effective, by finding out how to mine on a graphics processor unit (GPU mining).

What’s the difference?

Let’s start with defining CPU and GPU.

CPU (processor) — is a central controller of a computer. It’s responsible for subsequent tasks. For example, for the following chain of actions:

1. Open «notepad»
2. Write something
3. Tap «Save»
4. The processor records the result on HDD

As you can see, these are subsequent actions.

GPU (graphics card) has a different role. It’s responsible for repeated actions. For example, while you watch YouTube on your monitor, a series of invisible processes takes place:
Every single pixel needs to be constantly processed.
The Graphics processor unit provides repeating actions over and over again to make a picture.

So, GPU has greater bandwidth and provides 10 times more effective mining than CPU!

What’s going on with TON mining?

It's made some significant steps:

1. After a court ruling, the Telegram team stopped TON blockchain development and transferred the testnet2 coins to proof-of-work Giver smart contracts. Everyone who had enough computing capacity could mine these smart contracts’ coins.

2. After that, the popularity of this coin among miners rose so much that @tonblockchain (open-source community developers who continued work on the project), voted to rename testnet2 to mainnet. Obviously, the coin gained value equal to the expenses made purchasing mining equipment and was called Toncoin.

3. Today, most miners start using GPU, competition grows and thus mining becomes more sophisticated. For example, for the last 12 weeks, complexity has risen up to 10 times!

Why is it increasing?

This point is the most interesting! The only cause is that more and more TON users are getting involved 😎. They actively invest in equipment and electricity for mining💎💎💎.

It’s really cool because those who believe in this project will be the ones who receive the coins.

ATTENTION! Check the project’s website to find all the details in an updated section devoted to mining. Here is a link: https://ton.org/mining

Hello, everyone! 💎

We've learned that TON community developers are working on mining software that will operate like default Windows apps.

In case you have a powerful GPU card but the guide on mining is too hard to understand, then you should know that soon it'll be possible to mine Toncoin without any special technical skills 😎.

Announcement: the bridge between TON and Binance Smart Chain (BSC) coming soon.

While @tonblockchain developers are busy polishing the bridge and preparing it for the launch, let us tell you about Binance Smart Chain.

BSC is a blockchain launched by the well-known Binance exchange about a year ago.

The Binance team combined their developments with Ethereum and created a new, more flexible BSC network with some significant advantages:

💎 High transaction speed.
💎 Low fees.
💎 Excellent compatibility with Ethereum. Any Ethereum developer can run his app on BSC almost without changes.

That's why BSC has become very popular.

But! Even the coolest blockchains have drawbacks. For example, BSC sacrifices decentralization for its strengths: every validator of the network has to be approved by Binance.

Ongoing bridges between TON and other networks are created to help users feel comfortable right now.

However, don't forget that the ultimate goal of the project is a deeper cross-chain integration. TON plans to become a link between other blockchains to build on their strength and avoid their weaknesses.

Hey, there's a new feature in our ecosystem 💎

Good evening, friends! Would you please welcome TON Wallet ! It is now available directly in your browser. 🥳

In case you're familiar with Ethereum, you've probably heard about the MetaMask extension.

It's used by 5 million people every month, and it's not just an ordinary wallet but a powerful tool for interacting with blockchain applications.

Let's imagine you're a fan of Ethereum CryptoKitties, and you are about to buy a virtual kitten. Here's how to do it:

1. Click the button in the game.
2. The web page automatically connects to MetaMask.
3. A notification is sent to you, and the only thing you have to do is confirm or cancel the transaction. Pretty convenient, isn't it?

Of course, it works not just with cryptogames.

For example, you can use MetaMask to exchange ETH to Toncoin in Uniswap DEX - we posted instructions on how to do it.

It’s not just another primitive token storage, but a payment service like Apple or Google Pay in the blockchain world.

And now TON has its own "metamask"!

Here's the link:

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ton-wallet/nphplpgoakhhjchkkhmiggakijnkhfnd

It should be as easy to install this extension as a regular wallet (you can find the instructions here), however, if you experience any difficulties, don’t hesitate to write to us in the comments and we'll guide you through the process.

The extension will work with every new Toncoin-application, and @tonblockchain developers will add some functions that even MetaMask doesn't have, but it's a secret for now 😉.

The bridge between TON and BNB Chain is up and running!

You can find it here: ton.org/bridge/bsc

Now you can transfer your Toncoin to BNB Chain and back. The bridge works on the same principles as TONEthereum bridge, but there is only one limitation:

The minimum transfer amount is 10 Toncoin.

You can find the address of the Toncoin smart contract (BEP-20) at ton.org/coin

Check out a couple of ideas for using the bridge:

💎 First, add BNB Chain and TONCOIN token to MetaMask. Then, you can use Wrapped Toncoin in the BNB Chain blockchain ecosystem. Follow these instructions.

💎 The token is available on PancakeSwap, a decentralized exchange on BNB Chain similar to Uniswap.

There, you can not only trade crypto but also earn local currency, CAKE, by farming, staking, or just by winning the lottery 🎲😎

Read this article to learn more about PancakeSwap.

Although the TONEthereum bridge appeared only a month ago, the @tonblockchain developers have already launched a new one!

Friends, TON is growing, getting stronger, and moving toward its goal 💪

What happened to Facebook?

Hello! 💎 Let’s engage in a philosophical discussion bringing up recent news.

So, what was it:

– Facebook and almost all of its sites and services collapsed with a terrible crash: Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp were down for hours. Half of the Internet that uses Facebook experienced problems.

– People flocked to other social networks that also went down because they weren't ready for the surge of traffic. It’s worth noting that our favorite Telegram welcomed 70 million new users in one day and fortunately survived.

Whose fault is it?

A technical investigation carried out by CloudFlare is now available https://blog.cloudflare.com/october-2021-facebook-outage.

In simple terms - an administrator apparently misconfigured Facebook's network.

Why it couldn't be fixed quickly:

– Nothing worked on FB: all their internal messengers and contact books went down.
– It got worse, Facebook employees could not get into the office because their ID’s did not work either.

Can it happen again?

Absolutely. Today's Internet is based on the principles that were in place 30 years ago.

Back then a world wide web or social networks were a fiction. The Internet has become what it was destined to become: centralized, vulnerable, and therefore not stable.

The recent shutdowns of Cloudflare, Amazon, Facebook, and other major services have demonstrated just how fragile our Internet is. And there is an urgent need to fix it.

You probably know one project that pursues this goal, don't you? 💎

Developers on the look-out for decentralization and stability of TON.

As you know, mining is used for the initial distribution of Toncoin.

Just a year ago, few would have believed that the mining of Toncoin was to become so popular and the coin itself would gain any value. Back then, the open-source developers had to entertain themselves by researching and testing the original TON technology left behind by Telegram.

The project has been evolving in a spontaneous manner; yet, by now total mining hashrate hits a whopping 14 Terahash per second!

In simple terms, a lot of people want coins and there are multiple servers involved in mining those coins.

An undeniable advantage of mining is that it allows EVERYONE to get coins on equal terms.

You don’t have to be rich. All you need to get coins from a PoW giver is a computer with a graphics card.

Imagine that Toncoins were distributed through a typical ICO. Then your chances of getting coins were slim.

However, benefits come with challenges:

💎 First, we have no idea who the miners are, let alone what they plan to do with the tokens once they get them.

💎 Second, in any free environment you might get the likes of Bill Gates who will hold large amounts of coins.

Neither is a problem for now, but both issues increase uncertainty.

Tasked with maintaining stability and decentralization of TON today and in the future, our developers have found a truly elegant solution!

Wonder what it is? Check out our next post for the whole story

Developers on the look-out for decentralization and stability of TON.
Part 2.

Hi everybody! 😎 Last time we talked about the challenges that TON developers had to face.

Here is a brief recap:
Mining-based coin distribution is a great option for at least two reasons:

1. It is truly decentralized.
2. It creates a level playing field for everybody who wants to get coins on equal terms.

Yet, challenges emerge:

We don’t know who the miners are or how they plan to use the coins in the future; in the early days of mining when the competition was less stiff, the likes of Bill Gates holding big volumes of coins may have appeared.

Suppose they, inadvertently or deliberately, decide to harm TON tokenomics?

TON Foundation team expertly handled the issue. Their approach is explained in the recent update of the Primer document.

What are the likely intentions of a Toncoin holder?

💎 To use tokens to develop new services and apps on TON or to interact with the existing ones.

💎 To exchange or sell coins.

💎 To invest coins into an initiative to earn revenues.

The first point is a clear case, and it is always welcome.

To enable items two and three, the TON Foundation announced new network components: TON Reserve and TON Nominators.

TON Reserve:

Toncoin owners can freeze their coins on an ad-hoc smart contract and convert them to BTC at a continuously rising exchange rate determined by a formula.

TON Nominators:

A token owner can lend coins to network validators and earn revenues from their activities.

And here is the killer feature of those components:

Investing Toncoins in these services will benefit major holders. At the same time, with more coins invested, the whole TON environment and cryptocurrency tokenomics will become more stable and secure.

Follow our updates for more information on TON Reserve and TON Nominators.
