#DidYouKnow: Wireless Alert Alarm System (AAS)

With an estimated 83,000 seniors expected to be living alone by 2030, providing resources for safe, independent living has never been more vital. Some seniors in Singapore have a special red button in their homes, designed to connect them directly with emergency responders when they need help most!

These Personal Alert Buttons (PAB) are part of the wireless Alert Alarm System (AAS), a collaboration between GovTech and HDB to modernise the original 1993 pull-cord system in selected one-room rental flats.

With a simple press, the PAB sends a distress alert to either a Senior Activity Centre (SAC) or CareLine, a 24/7 telecare service by Changi General Hospital, ensuring seniors are not alone in an emergency.

🗺 As of today, the GoWhere Suite has supported more than 30 government initiatives, campaigns, and resources. It acts as a directory that guides millions of you to the key information you need, conveniently by searching with your postal code or address.

🚀 To scale this success and support the whole government, we launched DIYGoWhere – a no-code platform that empowers agencies to build, manage and launch their GoWhere websites in less than a day. This has drastically reduced the time and resources needed to roll out a GoWhere website. This is one way we engineer a digital government and make lives better.
