We’re back with another burning day! Here’s a quick reminder about what it is and how it increases the token supply capacity of GMT.
We issued tokens on the ERC-20 standard and burned them.
Here are all the details:
▪️ we introduced 30 000 TH of computing power
▪️ then issued 17 421 603 GMT on the ERC-20 standard
▪️ and burned 3 484 321 GMT tokens (20%)
▪️ we then redistributed the released capacity among the entire volume of GMT tokens
▪️ as a result token supply capacity has increased to 0.001743 TH

Token burning explained
Token burning is the destruction of a certain number of tokens to reduce their emission and to increase computing power. All token burning operations are recorded on the blockchain as a transaction, so any burning activity can be verified.
Token burning is typically done to increase the price of a token. The creators of digital coins destroy tokens to limit supply and thereby increase the token price (assuming demand remains stable).
Developers send tokens they want to get rid of to addresses that no one can access. The private keys of these addresses are not available, meaning that the tokens are forever lost, destroyed, or burned once they are sent to these addresses.

Managing Director of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) Ravi Menon spoke about cryptocurrency regulation at the Financial Times Crypto and Digital Asset Summit Wednesday.
Noting that crypto could be used to launder money and to finance terrorism, Menon emphasized:
“The licensing process is stringent. And it needs to be because we want to be a responsible global crypto hub with innovative players, but also with strong risk management capabilities.”

The Samsung Asset Management Company (SAMC) is expected to list a blockchain exchange-traded fund (ETF) on the Hong Kong Exchange during the first half of 2022, parent company Samsung Group has said. The listing of the ETF, which tracks cryptocurrency and blockchain technology companies, will be a first for Asia the report said.
The reports about the ETF listing come a few weeks after SAMC reportedly acquired a 20% stake in Amplify Holding Company, a U.S. ETF sponsor. As part of a $30 million acquisition agreement with Amplify Holding, Samsung Group’s investment arm will have exclusive rights to provide Amplify products in Asia.
