ROBOT IN RESIDENCE
Since August 2022, the NAO robot has been touring the Goethe-Instituts in sub-Saharan Africa as part of the "Robot in Residence" program. The NAO robot, a humanoid robot developed by SoftBank Robotics, is programmed by developers in the various African countries so that it can perform specific tasks in each location.
On September 19, 2023, at 10:00 am, the robot will perform at the Goethe-Institut and tell these fairy tales to Ethiopian children in Amharic. There will even be a fairy tale told in the Tigrigna and Oromoffia languages.

๐Ÿค–โœจ NAO, the perfect host today at Goethe-Institut Ethiopia! It delighted children with fairy tales told in Amharic, Tigrigna, and Oromoffia languages. The stories were a blend of classic and contemporary, featuring renowned authors like Kebede Michael and Daniel Negash Wagaye.

Special shoutout to the talented software engineering students, Belier Mesay and Estifanos Taye! They successfully programmed NAO to share traditional Ethiopian fairy tales to life. Their skill and creativity made this storytelling experience possible.
