Under the Africa-Europe Partnerships for Culture: Sub-Saharan Africa, we are launching the Individual Mobility Grant. The grants are to enable artists from sub-Saharan Africa to tour the continents and to enter dialogue with the local scenes.

They serve to promote intra-African and intercontinental dialogue, to access new audiences and markets for
African artists, to promote talents from the region, and to the develop South-South as well as South-North cooperations.

Filmmakers in Ethiopia Goethe-Institut is hosting a networking evening.
There’ll be a panel on film distribution and coproduction, with speakers Leul Shoaferaw, Aaron Kassaye, and Semagngeta Aychiluhem.It’s a space to connect, share experiences, and learn from those involved in international programmes like AEDA and Berlinale.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS: MOBILITY GRANTS FOR ARTISTS & CULTURAL PROFESSIONALS

Are you an artist or cultural professional in Sub-Saharan Africa or the EU? Apply for Mobility Grant of up to €4,000 under the Africa-Europe Partnerships for Culture: Sub-Saharan Africa Component. The grant is to enable artists from Sub-Saharan Africa to tour the continents and to enter dialogue with the local scenes.

They serve to promote intra-African and intercontinental dialogue, to access new audiences and markets, to promote talents from the region, and to the develop South-South as well as South-North cooperations.

We welcome applications from artists & culture professionals aged 18+ from performing arts, music, literature, film, media arts, cultural heritage, design, architecture or fashion.

Postcards from Khartoum, Cairo & Kampala – Photography Exhibition

On Monday, 27. October 2025, starting at 6:00pm, the Goethe-Institut Äthiopien is pleased to host its first public cultural programme with Sudanese partners since 2020.
This special event is held in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut Sudan and the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany for Sudan.

The programme features the official Ethiopian launch of the 2023 “Postcards from Khartoum, Cairo & Kampala” photography exhibition, showcasing collective experiences, and personal reflections by photographers based in Khartoum, Cairo, and Kampala. The exhibition will remain open to the public at the Goethe-Institut Äthiopien until 15. November 2025.

Open to the public. Special welcome to Sundanese people and artists and creative in Addis.
