Japanese hotels are getting hit through TON-based malware 🦠🏨

Since late May 2026, Japanese hotels and travel agencies have reportedly been targeted by a trojan called TONResolver.

The infection path is classic: phishing emails pretending to be from Booking com, with malicious .LNK files attached.

After landing on the system, the malware steals credentials from Chrome and Edge, scans the internal network, and opens remote access for attackers.

The weird part is the control layer
👀

TONResolver uses TON smart contracts for C2 communication — basically hiding command signals inside blockchain activity. That makes the usual “block the server” playbook much weaker, because the chain itself doesn’t have a simple off switch.

And this is not the first time.

Earlier in 2026, TrickMo used a similar TON-based setup. Same pattern, same uncomfortable lesson: neutral infrastructure can become a very convenient hiding place when bad actors need something resilient.

Blockchains were built to resist shutdowns.
Malware operators noticed too

Regulators are reaching TON DeFi now 👀

MiCA is starting to show up inside the TON ecosystem.

Major TON exchanges are already adding the boring but important stuff: Terms of Service prompts, legal warnings, and jurisdiction blocks for users from restricted regions.

At first glance, it’s just compliance text.
In practice, it’s DeFi slowly learning the same lesson as centralized exchanges: interfaces are easier to regulate than protocols.

MiCA was designed as a unified EU rulebook for crypto. Exchanges, custodial wallets, and other crypto services now need to fit into one European licensing framework instead of navigating country-by-country chaos.

The centralized market already felt it first: Coinbase, Kraken, OKX and others moved toward EU licensing, while Binance had to limit access for some European users after missing the authorization window.

The contracts may stay open.
But the frontends, wallets, and access points are becoming the new control layer.

🤑 Decentralization is back on the TON showcase

Between the third and fourth MTONGA steps, Durov found time to remind everyone that TON is one of the most decentralized blockchains in the world.

The narrative moved fast: crypto influencers picked it up on X, and the refreshed ton.org even briefly displayed a block about TON ranking #2 in decentralization.

At first glance, it’s a clean marketing point.
In practice, it’s TON trying to turn a technical metric into a public trust signal.

The whole story sits on the Nakamoto coefficient. In simple terms, it shows how many validators are needed to gain critical influence over the network.

For PoS chains like TON, that means stake weight. If one group controls more than a third of validation power, it can potentially disrupt the network.

So yes, decentralization looks good on the homepage 😏

But the real question is whether the validator map stays strong when big players keep moving in.

My Wallet is turning into a multi-chain cockpit 💼

My Wallet rolled out its July update — and the wallet keeps pushing beyond the usual TON-native box.

The headline: 100+ new trading pairs.

But the more interesting part is the stack around it: WalletConnect support, stock and fund trading, plus spam hiding.

At first glance, it’s just another wallet update.
In practice, it’s My Wallet trying to become the place where crypto, assets, and app connectivity sit in one interface.

Wallets used to be storage.
Now they’re becoming terminals 😏

And in Telegram-adjacent ecosystems, the winner is rarely the tool with the most features — it’s the one that makes switching apps feel unnecessary 👀

TON had a small “stress test” morning ☀️

The network is currently seeing slower block production after a sudden spike in message load.

Between 08:00 and 09:00 UTC, more than 866,557 messages were sent to the blockchain — way above the usual level of around 128,000 messages per hour.

The chain reacted by scaling from 1 shard to 14 shards, but transaction processing temporarily slowed down anyway.

At first glance, it’s just another congestion moment.
In practice, it’s the exact kind of pressure test that shows where “fast chain” marketing meets real load.

The timing is funny too

A validator software update aimed at improving network performance was already scheduled just minutes later.

TON wants to be sub-second, cheap, and failure-resistant. Today the network got a reminder: infrastructure only becomes real when it gets punched in public.

✉️ Telegram had a day without t.me

Yesterday evening, Telegram ran into an awkward infrastructure incident: the t.me domain stopped opening in browsers for users around the world.

The problem wasn’t Telegram itself.
It was the domain layer — t.me suddenly disappeared from the .me DNS zone.

At one point, even Durov had to jump in publicly and ask the .me operator what actually happened.

Now t.me is back online.

But the lesson is uncomfortable 😏

Even a platform that talks like infrastructure can still depend on a very old internet choke point: a normal domain name.

Telegram can route around blocks, build proxies, push TON, wallets, bots and mini apps.

But if the front door disappears from DNS, the whole ecosystem gets a reminder that “decentralized rails” still often start with a centralized address 👀

AlphaTON is now Alpha Compute — the TON treasury story is basically over 🤖

Alpha Compute Corp, formerly AlphaTON Capital Corp, has completed its pivot away from digital asset accumulation and into AI compute.

The final TON tranche worth around $6M was sold under an agreement with companies connected to Animoca Brands. What’s left on the balance sheet is roughly $200K in GRAM, which will be returned to one shareholder.

So the company didn’t just “rebalance.”
It walked away from the TON treasury model almost completely.

Now GRAM is being used only as payment for compute power inside the Cocoon AI network.

At first glance, it’s a corporate rename.
In practice, it’s a very clean narrative shift: from holding TON assets to selling AI infrastructure.

The market wanted “AlphaTON.”
The company chose “Alpha Compute” 😏

And that says a lot about where public crypto-adjacent firms think the next fundraising story lives.

🤑 TON Foundation allegedly spent $4.66M — and the output looks messy

Researcher Rivol published an investigation claiming that from January 2025 to June 2026, TON Foundation sent at least $4.66M to the RSquad team.

The pattern described is uncomfortable: one project fails or freezes, the same team gets the next contract.

TON BTC Teleport never really left testnet — then TON Pay appeared.
TON Pay stopped getting updates — then Rust Node appeared.
After the final $2.02M transfer, Rust Node v0.9.0 was released… and 5 days later, TON removed all Rust Node pages from official documentation.

At first glance, it’s just “failed R&D.”
In practice, it looks like a funding loop with very little public accountability.

The contrast is the loudest part 😏

All publicly announced TON developer support programs in 2026 reportedly allocated around $69K combined.
RSquad received 37× more just during the Rust Node development period.

Even the project trailer — 6 minutes, 1,311 views — allegedly cost $40–50K.

TON keeps selling the builder narrative.
But when millions go into quiet contracts while public grants stay tiny, the question becomes obvious:

TON Strategy cut the old baggage 😊

TON Strategy (TONX) has completed the liquidation of its legacy social commerce businesses — MARKET.live and LyveCom.

Now the company is focused on one thing only: managing its GRAM reserve.

At first glance, it’s just corporate cleanup.
In practice, it’s a full reset of the business model: less “startup portfolio,” more pure treasury strategy.

The expected savings are pretty clear too — around $4M per year in lower operating costs, with the effect starting to show in Q2 2026.

The new bet is simple 😏

TONX holds 230.5M GRAM and expects around 16% annual staking yield.

So the company basically removed everything that didn’t fit the balance sheet story.

No commerce apps. No extra noise. Just reserve, yield, and the hope that GRAM can carry the whole narrative 👀

Rivol goes after TON Ecosystem Reserve 👀

Rivol published a second major investigation this week — now about the TON Ecosystem Reserve.

In April 2022, TON Foundation announced a record $1B “community donation” from whales who supposedly gave TON without asking for anything back.

But according to Rivol, 99.99% of the funds came from 37 connected wallets tied to early miners from Telegram’s orbit. Some reportedly sent almost everything they had.

Then in November 2023, control over 531M TON moved from a multisig to a single wallet — with no public explanation.

Since July 2025, 77% of withdrawn funds reportedly went to Telegram. Part may also be linked to the TON Strategy deal.

The promised Reserve programs — grants, integrations, community growth — allegedly received nothing before control changed.

And the legal recipient, TON Stiftung, was registered only in May 2023 — a year after the “donation.”

At first glance, it was community support.
In practice, Rivol frames it as legalization of early-mined TON into a liquid asset for sales and staking income.

Decentralization looks nice on the homepage.
The money trail looks less cute 😏

Gram Wallet is going native inside Telegram 🤑

Durov says this summer will bring the biggest non-custodial crypto wallet launch in history: Gram Wallet will appear across all Telegram apps.

The updated wallet.ton.org already lets users create a TON wallet, using Gram Wallet code developed by the My Wallet team.

The pitch is simple: instant crypto transactions, no fees, and direct access for a massive user base.

At first glance, it’s a wallet rollout.
In practice, it’s Telegram removing the last excuse for users to “install something else.”

If the wallet becomes native, crypto stops being a separate app category.
It becomes another Telegram action

Notcoiner suddenly found a conscience 😏

Sasha “SquarePants” claimed that almost all TON meme tokens are dead — and the few still moving survive on fake volume, pump-and-dump games, and the last drops of retail liquidity.

The funny part is the mirror.

That same math is basically what powered his own TON journey.

Now he talks like the cleanup crew, but the ecosystem remembers who helped make the mess popular in the first place 👀

And when asked if Notcap stickers were over after he left the chat, his answer was simple: he left because people “tagged him without respect.”

TON memes really went from “community culture” to ego management.

RSquad complaint reached the Swiss regulator 🙄

The Swiss foundation regulator ESA reportedly accepted the evidence package on TON Foundation’s $4.66M payments to RSquad.

They confirmed receiving all 8 PDF reports, sent the case to a specialized lawyer, and will review it under foundation law.

That means possible supervisory measures are now on the table.

ESA is also likely to notify The Open Network Stiftung and ask for explanations based on an anonymous summary of the evidence.

So the RSquad story is no longer just Telegram drama.

Once the regulator opens the file, “failed R&D” becomes a legal question
