About Speaker
Shahruzkhon Elomov is a proud Yonsenian 25.5, studying for Economics major at UIC, ranked #50 globally, #11 in Asia.
Shahruzkhon says that UIC is multicultural. He has never met so many ethnically different students in his entire life. The Uzbek community’s solidarity and unity is felt at very good level. There is Uzbek Youth Association at Yonsei, which organizes cultural events and builds Central Asian community.
Academically, he shared that he has successfully wrote his first research paper on the topic of nationalism in Korea nad Europe during his first semester. He has also been scoring straight As and one B in his course subjects.
Though he tries to balance studies with sports. He is a member of Yonsei Fight club team. He also enjoys working out at the gym, loves Korean cuisine and even had a job experience during the winter break. Despite so many extracurriculars and studies, he recently got TOPIK 1, and will be taking TOPIK 2 test soon.
FYI: Shahruzkhon had admission offers from three more top 50 universities, including the University of Toronto🇨🇦, McGill University🇨🇦, and Korea University🇰🇷, but ended up enrolling at Yonsei for unforgettable academic experience in liberal arts curriculum.

Congrats to Yusufbek Mamatkulov! He got admitted to a 3-year Bachelor’s program in Digital Marketing at SRH University, Berlin campus. He graduated from public high school in Samarkand, and got admission to an undergraduate program in Germany without Foundation year.
Although his studies already started, SRH University gave Yusufbek permission to arrive late and provided assistance in speeding up the visa process.
We wish Yusufbek great success in his studies in Germany, where he can later pursue his career in marketing.

This Wednesday we are hosting another webinar with another Globstudy alum, Sevinch Alibekova, to hear about her admission journey.
About Sevinch
I studied at school number 35 and graduated with honors, being placed at the top of my class, which was one of the main reasons why I got into a SKY university with a full scholarship. From my early childhood I have been taking both math and English classes and attending musical school at the same time. All of the efforts paid off in my application process with IELTS 7.5 and a diploma from musical school.
Now, I am a student of one of the top 3 universities in South Korea, which is also ranked 61st in QS world university rankings. Having the largest campus in Anam, Korea University is well known for its breathtaking architecture, which reminds people of Hogwarts from the Harry Potter movie. Offering various facilities for both domestic and foreign students to study, rest, maintain a healthy lifestyle, and enjoy annual sports games and festivals with popular K-pop idols for free, it attracts thousands of students around the world.
Having joined 3 university clubs I am enjoying my student life so far, not including the hardest classes and exams. The first club I have joined is KUDC (Korea University Debate Club), which I am enjoying the most, especially due to the recent tournament “DAE x KIDA between 20 top universities in Korea. The second one is KU Talk, which helps me improve my public speaking and feel more confident about my speech. I also participate in the Korea University Orchestra, where I enjoy playing different pieces as a second violinist during my free time.
One of the other parts I would love to mention is how easy it is for me to make international friends here. Having such a lovely atmosphere to grow in, both personally and professionally, makes me sure of my choice. I would love to see more students from Uzbekistan at Korea University.
