Starting now, visa applicants will face enhanced vetting of their social media accounts as part of the visa process.

According to a new State Department directive:
- Your Instagram, TikTok, X (Twitter) and other public profiles will be reviewed
- Private accounts may be seen as evasive

❗️ Officers are instructed to deny or delay cases if they find “hostile attitudes” toward U.S. society, government, or values

Even students who were already interviewed — but haven’t received a final decision — may be asked to go through additional vetting or even a second interview.
