"When we first began to think about digital transformation, the key question that we began to ask ourselves was — why is it needed? The answer is that digital transformation is not just a choice of technologies. It's about business transformation".

On February 2022 , Global CIO had an online meeting with the Director of Information and Digital Technologies of IKEA KSA & Bahrain Paolo Cinelli. Thrillingly, an international company with significant financial resources also faces difficulties in the operation of an online store and it isn’t always able to clearly define a digitalization strategy. How the company overcomes these difficulties is the speech of Paolo Cinelli.

Compass CIO: Chess AI, Neural Network Training, The Voice as a Health Creator, etc.

The first autumn month tells us to start with some not-so-serious news of AI and analytics. That’s why we will begin with astonishing accusations, made by five-time world chess champion Magnus Carlsen. After the tournament in St.Louis, Missouri, the Norwegian grandmaster made a Twitter statement explaining his defeat to an American competitor and saying Hans Niemann was cheating. Although it is difficult to cheat in chess when rivals sit directly across the board with a number of officials over their shoulders, modern advances in AI algorithms are here to help.

Indian edtech giant Byju’s raises $250 million in fresh funding

Byju’s said Monday it has raised $250 million in new funding from existing backers as the Indian edtech giant looks to navigate the market downturn that has forced the firm to postpone its initial public offering and cut thousands of jobs.

The new funding valued the Bengaluru-headquartered startup at $22 billion, the same figure at which it raised a financing round in March this year, a person familiar with the matter said.

The company, India’s most valuable startup, declined to comment on the valuation but said Qatar’s sovereign fund, Qatar Investment Authority, participated in the round. It did not identify other backers. Byju Raveendran, founder and chief executive of Byju’s, told TechCrunch in an earlier interview that the startup was engaging with existing sovereign funds to put together a new round.
