የደረቀ ስንጥቅ እጇን - ወዳይኔ ጫፍ ሰንዝራ
የተዝረከረከ ያ ቆንጅዬ ልጇን በእጆቿ ጠፍራ
''ጌትዬ'' አለችኝ አንዱን ምስኪን ባርያ

መንገድ የጠፋበት መሄጃውን 'ማያቅ
ሰው አገኘሁ ብላ የሚያበራ ድቅድቅ
መች አወቀች እሷ የስልኬን ውስጥ ድብቅ
እየተከተለች ትለምነኛለች ይቺ የኔው ቢጤ
መንገድ ያከነፈኝ ሁል ጊዜ መጤ
መንፈግ ያስኮፈሰኝ - ጌታ የጠማው ለት የሆንኩኝ ኮምጣጤ
እኔ ደባብቄው አፍኜው እያለሁ ሁሉንም በውስጤ

በእናትየው ስም ለምና - በልጅየው ስም ጠራችኝ
''ጌትዬ በማርያም በማርያም'' አለችኝ
ማርያምና ልጇ ማናለ ቢራሩ
ለሷ እንድደርስላት ለኔ ቢለመኑ ?

'ማርያም ትስጥልኝ' ልበላት ወይስ ልጇን ልጥራ
አላህ ይስጥሽ ልበል ወይስ ኪሴን ላጥራ
ጌታ ተብላለች ልቤ እንዴት አትፈራ
ይች የምርያም ወዳጅ እኔን ጌታ ብላ

ጌትዬዋ ሆንኩኝ ባስረገዛት ወንዱ
የበላይዋ ሆንኩኝ ጠቦባት መንገዱ
እኔስ ጨልሞብኝ ጠፍቶብኛል ገዱ
አለብኝ ቀጠሮ በ'ለት ሃያ አንዱ

የምድሩን ህግ የናቀ የሳምዩን ላያከብር
እንደ ክቡር ዳኛው ልንገራት እንደምን
መጥሪያ ተቀብዬ እንደምሄድ ችሎት
እንዳለብኝ እስር

መንገዴን ሰርዤ ከኮንትራት ታክሲ
በሚኒባስ ልግባ እንድሰጣት ሳንቲ
ወይስ ሚኒባሱ ይቅርና ከቶ
በባሱ ታጭቄ ልስጣት አንድ መቶ
በእግር ብጓዘው አልደርስም ከችሎት
ወይ ጌትዬ መባል ጌታው የረሳን ለት!

Meet the Amazing Ethiopian Poet, Liyou Libsekal.

Liyou's poetry explores themes of home, identity and displacement. Liyou's chapbook, Bearing Heavy Things, is included in the African Poetry Book Fund's New Generation African Poets series. Her work has been included in Missing Slate Magazine, Badilisha Poetry and Cordite Poetry Review. Libsekal is winner of the 2014 Brunel University African Poetry Prize.

She was pieces of you strolling tall, slender and curved but you were with me as she cocooned and rolled and stretched. Always in a flowered dress, always drenched in fate

you sit, a lakeside lullaby a picture of youth then, and forever and forever I gnaw on whether you knew near the end

but with age as authority, we lived in darkness why expect more in death?

My anger lives in layers un-abandoned, if only for my sake.

በጥልቀት ወደ ግጥሙ ባህር ያደላል ። በእርሱ ስራዎች ዉስጥ መንፈሳዊ ልዕልናዎች ጎልተዉ ይወጣሉ ። ዉበት ፣ እምነት ፣ እዉነት ፣ ፍቅር እና የፈጣሪ ሁለንታ አፅንኦት ተሰጥቷቸዉ ይዳሰሳሉ ። ግጥሞቹ የማንንም ቤት ባይዳስሱ ይወዳል ፥ ይልቁኑ በራሳቸዉ ቁመት የደረሱበትን አሻግረዉ እንዲያዩ ይለቃቸዋል ።

ተወልዶ ያደገዉ ደሴ ነዉ ። ግጥም ዉስጥ ጠልቆ የገባዉ ሀረማያ ዩኒቨርሲቲ እያለ ነዉ ። ዩኒቨርሲቲዉ ሳይኾን እድሜየ ነዉ እሳት ዉስጥ የገባዉ ባይ ነዉ ። አዲስአበባ ከመጣ በኃላም በብዙ መዉጣት ባይፈልግም በ ግጥማዊት ቅዳሜ ( poetic Saturday ) @poeticsaturday አንዳንድ ስራዎቹን አቅርቧል ። አሁን ላይ አዲስ የግጥም ቤት ለመስራት እየሰራ ይገኛል ።

ከተቀመጠበት ደርሳ እንደምትልሰዉ
እንደምትዳስሰዉ
ረዥም ቀሚሷን እንደሚዳስሳት
በነበልባል ቃሉ ቅኔ እያለበሳት ።

ባቆመችህ ቦታ እግርህን ደግፋ
ደረትህን ገልብጠህ
ወደልብህ ዙረህ
ጥሩአንባህን ንፋ

ህዋስ ሳለህ ስውር ኗሪ ደቂቅ ፍጡር
ምንነትህ እንኳን ለዓለም ላንተም ምስጢር
ዛፍ አይደለህ አትነቀል
ወይ መልሰህ አትተከል
ከስንቱ ጋር በስንቱ አጀብ
‘ምትታጀብ
ከስንቱ ጋር ለስንቱ አጀብ
‘ምታጅብ
ስንት ለሊት ስንት መዓልት ስንትስ ዘመን
ካለ ትዕይንትህ ‘ምትተውን

‘አገሬ መሬት ነው ወንዝና ተራራ
አገሬ ባህል ነው ምግብና ጭፈራ
አገሬ ሰዉ ነው ኦሮሞና አማራ’

ማንንም ሳትጠራ ማንንም ሳትፈራ
ይቻልህ እንደሆን ከቆምክባት ቦታ

ከምትመታው ልብህ አንድ የደም ጠብታ
ከመዋደድ ፀጋም ቆንጥረህ በእርጋታ
ሰላም አፀድ መሃል ውስጥህ አኑራታ
በክብር በሞገስ ሰንደቅህን ተክለህ
ከአይምሮ ባርነት ሰዉን ነፃ አውጥተህ
ከዓለም ሰመመን ሁሉን ቃል አንቅተህ
ባልጠፋ ሸማኔ ባልቸገረ ፈታይ ድሪቶን አትስፋ
ኑር እንጂ አብርተህ
