International Arctic corporate event.

Moscow is preparing the sixth International Arctic Forum (IAF) for 26-27 March in Murmansk.

But instead of an international forum, it will be an all-inclusive corporate event: Kremlin advisers, governors, ministers, Rosatom, Novatek, Nornickel, and two penguins from the Lenin Icebreaker Museum. And from abroad - a Chinese man who does not make decisions, plus God knows who else. That's it. That's it. That's what will happen at the forum, which once hosted dozens of world leaders.

For comparison, in 2019, the MFA in St. Petersburg was attended by the presidents of Finland and Iceland, the prime ministers of Sweden and Norway, and ministers from Denmark, Iceland, Japan, and the United States. 12 international companies. 129 Russian companies. Delegations from China, the United States, Canada, Japan, Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Iceland. In 2025, delegations from three countries that either dream of sanctions or have been under them for a long time.

The Kremlin is, of course, trying to pretend that this was the intention: that we are "open to cooperation", but that all seven Arctic states just couldn't make it at the same time by chance. Well, it can happen to anyone.

However, in reality, everything is simple: Canada, Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Norway, Sweden and the United States have stupidly stopped communicating with Russia in the Arctic Council since 2022. In fact, Russia's isolation is so deep that even ice floes refused to drift towards Murmansk.

By the way, for the first time in the history of the forum (MAF 2010 - Moscow, 2011 and 2017 - Arkhangelsk, 2013 - Salekhard, 2019 - St. Petersburg), it is being held in a real Arctic city. Murmansk is the only thing the Kremlin has left in the Arctic, apart from reindeer and the nuclear-powered icebreaker Lenin (the latter is now part of the official cultural programme). Its main function is to remind us how Russia used to break the ice. That's all)

Just in case, before the urine of imperialism hit the heads of the pensioners in the Kremlin, Russia had membership in the following organisations

Arctic Council - terminated in 2022;

Barents-Euro-Arctic Council - withdrew in 2023;

ICES - withdrew;

Council of Ministers of the North - no longer cooperating;

Northern Dimension - the project is frozen.

As a result, we have a forum without the West, without the North, without fishing, without dialogue. But with Putin's statement about the "dynamic development of the macro-region".

Speaking of Russia's independence from China. In 2019, the Russians shouted loudly about a breakthrough when the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Qingdao National Laboratory signed an agreement to establish the China-Russia Arctic Research Centre, and when they agreed on Arctic LNG 2. But in 2025, relying on China is no longer a strategy, it is dependence and no longer a "partnership".

Epilogue. Actually, today's IAF is no longer the "International Arctic Forum", but a "local Arctic gathering" with a hint of geopolitics, with extras and pro-Russian journalists who will passionately and furiously praise blah-blah-dimir.

Міжнародний арктичний корпоратив.

Москва готує шостий міжнародний арктичний форум (МАФ) на 26–27 березня у мурманську.

«Міжнародний» він тому шо там будуть три іранці, один китаєць і ведуча ток-шоу на погодинній оплаті з Сінгапуру

Але замість міжнародного форуму вийде корпоратив у стилі «всі свої»: кремлівські радники, губернатори, міністри, “росатом”, “новатек”, “норнікель” і два пінгвіни з музею криголама “ленін”. А з-за кордону — китаєць, який не приймає рішення + ще бозна-хто. Все. Крапка. Саме це буде на форумі, який колись приймав десятки світових лідерів.

Для порівняння: у 2019 році на МАФ у санкт-петербурзі приїхали президенти Фінляндії та Ісландії, прем’єри Швеції та Норвегії, міністри з Данії, Ісландії, Японії, США. 12 міжнародних компаній. 129 російських. Делегації з Китаю, США, Канади, Японії, Фінляндії, Норвегії, Швеції, Ісландії. У 2025-му — делегації з трьох країн, які або мріють про санкції, або вже давно під ними.

Кремль, звісно, намагається зробити вигляд, шо так і було задумано: мовляв, у нас “відкритість до співпраці”, просто всі семеро арктичних держав випадково одночасно не змогли. Ну, з ким не буває.

Проте насправді все просто — Канада, Данія, Ісландія, Фінляндія, Норвегія, Швеція і США з 2022 року тупо припинили спілкування з росією в Арктичній раді. Ізоляція рф по факту настільки глибока, що навіть крижини відмовились дрейфувати у бік мурманська.

До речі, вперше за всю історію форуму (МAФ-2010 — москва, 2011 і 2017 — архангельськ, 2013 — салехард, 2019 — петербург) його проводять у справжньому арктичному місті. Мурманськ — єдине, що залишилося в кремля в Арктиці, крім оленів і атомного криголама “ленін” (останній тепер в офіційній культурній програмі. Його головна функція — нагадувати, як колись росія ламала кригу. І все)

Про всяк випадок нагадую шо до того, як сеча імперськості вдарила в голову пенсіонерам в кремлі, росія мала членство в таких організаціях, як

Арктична рада — припинено з 2022;

Баренц-Євро-Арктична рада — вийшли у 2023;

ICES — вийшли;

Рада міністрів Півночі — більше не співпрацює;

Північний вимір — проект заморожено.

В підсумку маємо форум без Заходу, без Півночі, без риболовлі, без діалогу. Але з заявою путіна про “динамічний розвиток макрорегіону”.

До речі, про незалежність рф від Китаю. В 2019 році росіяни голосно верещали про прорив, коли російська академія наук і Циндаоська національна лабораторія підписали угоду про створення Китайсько-російського арктичного дослідницького центру + коли була домовленість про “Арктичний СПГ-2”. Але в 2025-му надія на Китай — це вже не стратегія, а залежність і ніяке не “партнерство”.

Епілог. Власне, сьогоднішній МАФ — це вже не “Міжнародний арктичний форум”, а “місцеві арктичні посиденьки” з натяком на геополітику, з масовкою і проросійськими журналістами, які будуть палко та шалено хвалити бл-бла-діміра.

Ніякий це не форум. Це звичайний корпоратив - зустріч випускників, які через 25 років дивляться на шкільні фото і ностальгічно зітхають. Все
