Today, we’re excited to tell you about a significant event regarding the Getgems NFT marketplace: its launch on the TON testnet!

As we’ve shared with you before about our plans, launching Getgems on the testnet puts the marketplace on the cusp of a full launch on the mainnet.

The testnet version currently allows users to:
- Mint entire NFT collections
- Mint individual NFTs
- Transfer NFTs to other users.

To use the testnet version, you need to use the TON Wallet browser extension and remember to connect it to the testnet, for which we’ve got a guide here. You’ll need some Toncoin to mint your NFTs, so you can use a bot on Telegram to deposit some.

Next on our roadmap is establishing support for Tonkeeper and trading NFTs.

Good evening, everyone! The Getgems team has great news: Today, we launched a new feature that allows users to buy and sell NFTs on the testnet version of our Getgems.io marketplace. Yep, trading features are already live, and you can test them! Don’t forget that the marketplace on the testnet is only functional when you switch your TON Wallet to the testnet.

Besides the newest feature announcement, we continue developing the rest of the marketplace’s functionality, wrapping up all the work on the testnet and heading toward the moon on our rocketship — aka straight into the mainnet. Stay tuned!

A few days ago, the TON community made bridging available to transfer NFTs between blockchains.

Let’s figure out what that means in a language that doesn’t sound like Klingon.

Basically, bridge technology makes it possible to use NFTs issued on various blockchains — e.g., Solana or Ethereum — on TON, so you can have all of your NFTs in one place rather than on separate blockchains.

This means that our marketplace has a fascinating opportunity to become a cross-chain NFT marketplace. Imagine a place where you can buy or sell any of the following: Ethereum-native CryptoPunks, Solana’s NFTs from the Degenerate Ape Academy collection, or Smol Brain from Arbitrum.

And these NFTs can be used as collateral, fractionalized, or represent any other functionality artists and creators on TON choose.

We are fascinated by the future because it will allow us to integrate NFTs into the masses and make them available to everyone.

As you know, blockchain allows anyone to see the owner of the found gems, it keeps everything transparent, and it would be a thrill to see those gems spread around multiple holders!

I came across a Getgems channel post about their launch on the testnet. Even then I saw that there were some strange numbers in the picture. Well, I think it might be funny.

After a while, figuring out the bounce flags of TON Keeper, the thought came up, what if this is an encrypted message (from Durov).

After playing a little with the combinations, it became clear that this is a private key to the wallet in the TON network. Together with the participants of the private chat, we solved the riddle!

It is indeed a private key. We found wallets that match this key, looked through them and found... a gem! Fumbling around the canal, we found two more. Here they are:

We decided to make a small script so that they could be transferred, because there are few funds on NFT wallets. As a result, all gems found were transferred to their wallet.

How many more are on the getgems channel, and what they are for - one can only guess. We are waiting for @getgemsrus to reveal the cards.

Today, we’re going to answer some of the most frequently asked questions we’ve received lately.

How can my collection be placed on the main page? Why can’t I see my collection on the main page after I’ve minted it?

Once you’ve minted a collection, it won’t automatically appear on our main page. For now, we’re going through all submissions and hand-picking ones to be displayed on Getgems’ main page. Among amazing NFT art minted on the blockchain, there is also illegal content, unfortunately. We want to clarify that we have no interest in allowing the latter to be published on our marketplace. When we’re in the process of deciding what gets added to our platform, we consider the following:

- The collection has at least 10 NFTs created in the same thematic style. Only collections will be displayed on the main page, not individual NFTs.
- The NFTs in the collection must be up for sale. People visit the marketplace with the intention to buy something; if the collection’s not for sale, we’ve wasted the users’ time. We give priority to collections that were able to sell some of their NFTs, even without being displayed on the main page, meaning there’s already an interest in it among the community.
- The collection must be original. If it has too many similarities to other projects, or someone else’s art is being used, we’ll reject it. We check these things, too.

In the future, however, we plan on updating our marketplace to implement algorithms so that we can step away from the selection process and eliminate any biases. We figure that if a project sells well and is popular among users, it’ll be on the main page.

Hello, friends! Following up our yesterdays post, today we are going to cover the rest of the most popular questions.

When do you expect Tonkeeper app support on your site for logging in and buying NFTs?
We’ve been working closely with the Tonkeeper team, putting the final touches on this implementation. We can’t say when this service will be available because we don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up, but we’re definitely close. What we can tell you is that you’ll not only be able to sign in but also put your NFTs up for sale and make transactions.

When will you add the functions of mass NFT minting and/or burning, among other capabilities, to your marketplace?
At the moment, we’re working on sorting and filtering collections, completing the indexing process for NFTs, and integrating Tonkeeper. One of our top priorities is fixing issues with the process of buying and selling NFTs. For example, if we add the Tonkeeper integration on Monday, we’ll go back to working on features mentioned in the question the following day.

If my collection is already on the marketplace’s whitelist, how can I add more NFTs to it?
A whitelisted collection has no connection with the minting process. Right now, if your collection is ready and you have all supporting materials — a description, avatar, banner, and links to your social media pages — you can mint it and more NFTs for the collection. It’ll later appear not only on the whitelist but also on the blockchain. At that point, you’ll be able to sell and transfer NFTs, while others will have the opportunity to buy.
