America’s top diplomat talked about how the Western way of life has too often become about rewarding the average and the mediocre (i am reminded of the too big shoes trump gave him and rubio still wears).
Rubio contrasted this with the Parthenon in Athens. The Greek city-states were filled with conflict and passion. They fought to distinguish themselves, and they worked on art and philosophy.
Rubio’s speech described the Greeks as creating a great civilization. Thumos is the Greek word for “spiritedness.” The US secretary of state contrasted their sense of spirit with how those in the West now teach
their children to be ashamed of nationalism.
(Ironically, Greece seemingly a cooperator in BRI - Greece GRC Europe & Central Asia High income August 1, 2018 -so they signed on 1 year into Trumps 1st term? Yes)
(So was Marco greeted as popular?)

Police said the measures will avert “a significant threat to public safety due to the possibility of serious crimes, especially against life, physical health, and property, and a threat to disturbance of social and economic life in the specific area as well as the greater area of the City of Athens.”

From Wiki - "The EuroAsia Interconnector will link Israel with Cypriot and Greek power grids with high-voltage direct current submarine power cable of length around 1,208-kilometre (751 mi).[1][43] It will have a capacity to transmit 2,000 megawatts of electricity in either direction.[33][1] The 310-kilometre (190 mi) cable will link Israel with Cyprus.[1] Cyprus will be connected with the Greek island of Crete with 898-kilometre (558 mi) long cable"
