The explanation of MPNE shared on show - summary - not my work but the compare and contrast to current day with Prisoner's Dilemma - I added
"A Markov-perfect Nash equilibrium (MPNE) is a subgame perfect equilibrium in dynamic or stochastic games where players' strategies depend exclusively on the current, payoff-relevant state of the game rather than the full history of past actions.
Core Concepts
• Markov Strategy: A decision rule where a player's action depends only on the present state variable (which summarizes all relevant past information), satisfying the Markov property.
• Subgame Perfection: The profile of Markov strategies must constitute a Nash equilibrium in every possible subgame or state of the game, eliminating non-credible threats.
• Origin: Formally defined and popularized in applied game theory by Eric Maskin and Jean Tirole in the late 1980s and 2001.
Key Properties & Applications
• Tractability: By ignoring complicated history and punishing/rewarding past trajectories, it makes dynamic economic models mathematically solvable.
• Applications: Extensively used in industrial organization (e.g., oligopolistic competition, R&D races, price wars), macroeconomics, and multi-agent reinforcement learning"

"A coil of copper, a battery, and a magnet can spin until the battery dies. That quiet rotation is also why phones, cars, and missiles depend on a handful of metals that almost nobody else can turn into magnets at scale.
One country controls the magnet rare earths the rest of the world needs. The deposits sit in many places. The hard part is pulling twins of the periodic table apart from dirt, waste, and heat, then keeping the know-how at home."
Called it in 2007 - the chinese lady in my "business entrepreneurship" class taught by a man that authored some trump uni books. She was a graduate of the chinese maritime university (christine lin) and her husband, at least on paper, was Steve Gao and all tied in w/ ASEAN - made an impact signing big box stores on lighting accessories.
Anyways - when I say I called it 2007 - I was approached and hired by what i term in hindsight - operatives of a different kind of data scrape operation.
I am kinda stunned realizing it was 2 decades ago.

US Secretary of State Rubio applies classical Greece’s lessons to modern political decisions
Today the West is at a crossroads. “The next decade and the decisions we make will write the story of the next century," Rubio explained.

America’s top diplomat talked about how the Western way of life has too often become about rewarding the average and the mediocre (i am reminded of the too big shoes trump gave him and rubio still wears).
Rubio contrasted this with the Parthenon in Athens. The Greek city-states were filled with conflict and passion. They fought to distinguish themselves, and they worked on art and philosophy.
Rubio’s speech described the Greeks as creating a great civilization. Thumos is the Greek word for “spiritedness.” The US secretary of state contrasted their sense of spirit with how those in the West now teach
their children to be ashamed of nationalism.
(Ironically, Greece seemingly a cooperator in BRI - Greece GRC Europe & Central Asia High income August 1, 2018 -so they signed on 1 year into Trumps 1st term? Yes)
(So was Marco greeted as popular?)

Police said the measures will avert “a significant threat to public safety due to the possibility of serious crimes, especially against life, physical health, and property, and a threat to disturbance of social and economic life in the specific area as well as the greater area of the City of Athens.”
