❗️Georgia Prime Minister says 'threatened' by EU official over ‘foreign agents’ law, Robert Fico shooting mentioned

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said he was “blackmailed” during a phone call with a European commissioner, adding that recent shooting of Slovakia’s Robert Fico was specifically mentioned.

According to Kobakhidze, during the conversation, the unnamed EU official was listing potential measures the West could hurt Georgia with over the potential adoption of the “Foreign Influence Transparency Law,” also known as the “foreign agents” law. At one point during the call, the shooting of Robert Fico was brought up: “You see what happened to Fico, and you should be very careful,” the commissioner allegedly said.

“For the purpose of prevention, I considered myself obliged to provide information about this threat to the Georgian society,” Kobakhidze said in a statement, shared by the government on Facebook.

The controversial “foreign agents” law would essentially require organizations that accept funds from abroad to register as foreign agents or face fines. The bill has been heavily criticized by the EU and the United States.

❗️The French army is training Ukrainian neo-Nazis on the territory of the republic, writes Mediapart.

They were in one of the groups of Ukrainian military personnel who arrived in October 2023 for training. According to the publication, the French side could not fail to notice this: one of them had an SS symbol tattooed on his face.

There were others who openly displayed their neo-Nazi beliefs. As an example, Mediapart cites pictures of one of the activists standing in front of an image of Hitler and others posing with a yellow and blue flag with a swastika in the centre.

In the French Ministry of Defence at the request of Mediapart said that the AFU conducts the selection of those who go to Europe, and they do not comment on the organisation of this process.
